Looking for an AR mag that doesn't catch the bolt

Thanks...I didn't realize that this product worked with the AR mag Gen II Ruger Americans. Thought it was an option only for actual Ruger-magazine equipped rifles. If buffalowinter's mod doesn't work I'll order one of these.

Thanks! I'll try this mod first.

Looking for an AR mag that doesn't catch the bolt

Bolt rifle...no bolt catch to remove. The "bolt catch" in this case is the bottom lug of the tri-lug bolt.

Looking for an AR mag that doesn't catch the bolt

I just bought a Ruger American Ranch Gen II in 300BLK. It uses standard AR magazines. I like to single-load at the bench, but that's near impossible because the bolt catches on an empty magazine. I have tried grinding a ramp on the back of a mag follower, with mixed results. I'm pretty sure...

    Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper Issue

Follow-up to earlier posts, re: "load" button not working on Intellidropper My original Intellidropper's "load" button quit earlier this year after about a year of use. Indeed, Frankford customer service was very professional and a replacement was sent quickly. Everything was A-OK until...

    Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper Issue

Just drain as much powder as you can, then punch in a 100gr charge and run the dropper tube dry with it, and cancel the throw. Use the brush to get everything visible out of the hopper. Use a can of compressed air to blow the last few grains out. CLOSE THE DRAIN TUBE (I have trouble with that...

    .224 Valkyrie

Last month I gave up on the Valkyrie, after almost 3 years of constant and expensive fiddling with it. I was shooting an AR-platform with a 24" 1:6.5T bull barrel. Honestly, it showed some promise...especially with the Hornady 88gr ELDM's. The best load for them was 25.3gr Alliant PP2000-MR with...

Bill Cosby's conviction "overturned...." Will be released within hours

"As it turns out, it happened because of an agreement made decades ago by former Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce Castor, who said he would not charge Cosby. Although there's no evidence of that in writing, it stood up in court." -WFMZ-TV "Follow the money." -Deep Throat Jus sayin'...

    Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper Issue

Thanks to you and devildoc! I called them and they will replace the unit free of charge. The only problem is they are out of stock, so the replacement will take about a month. Oh, well...I'll be patient. Things will be slow using the beam balance, but it will work.

    Frankford Arsenal Intellidropper Issue

I've had mine for about 2 years. About 6 months ago the "Load" button quit working, a common problem reported by other users. I just decided to use the "Load" button on the phone app to throw the first charge and then run the rest of the charges in "Auto" mode. Then a couple of days ago the unit...

    Hodgdon Data Center down?

Dang, I was hoping that would work, CZ...but nada. The link either goes to that email page or it opens up a "URLShortener" tab. Their site must be hosed. Hope it's not permanent, it's a great resource!

    Hodgdon Data Center down?

I just tried to access the online Hodgdon Reloading Data Center and it seems to be down. All the links I have go to a page that asks for my email address. Has anyone else had this problem today, or is this my browser acting up after this week's huge Win10 update? It worke just fine a couple of...

    .223 - 5.56

I get an accurate (0.6MOA) nice mild load out of my el Cheapo Ruger American with the Sierra 77TMK over 21.5gr 8208-XBR. That's with Hornady brass and CCI BR-4 primers. My COAL for this load is 2.445". Good stuff for short range work. I see no reason why this load wouldn't work well with the...

    .224 Valkyrie Buffer & Spring....which one?

I'm running a Sanders 24" 1:6.7T .224 Valkyrie Varmint upper with rifle+2 non-adjustable gas. I use the JP SCS AR-15 buffer in "H2" weight. I bought the deal with the Alternative Spring Pack. I'm glad I did that because it allowed me to fine-tune the system to compensate for not having...
