It is not a function of the controls, but I didn’t like the gas blowback that comes from the right-hand ejection port. I don’t mind it on a 5.56, but didn’t care for it on a 7.62 AR.
For sale is a Daniel Defense DD5V1 (7.62) rifle with a PRS Gen 1 stock and SilencerCo Saker 7.62 Quick Detach muzzle break. No issues with the gun. I am a lefty, though, and the gas blowback across my face is enough that it has become a safe queen. The optics/mount in the photo are not...
I love my .300 Win Mag. (Borden Rimrock action, Bartlien #5 barrel, Jewell trigger, McMillan Game Scout stock, and a Swaro Z5 3.5-18 scope). It shoots 180 gr Federal Premium Trophy Copper ammo amazingly well and that combination has never let me down.
I’ve come to really like the Ruger Alaska Guide gun (mine is in .375). My only real complaint is the factory trigger, which is heavy and a bit gritty. The ergonomics of it, though, are nice. It’s quick and comfortable to shoulder and get on target. By comparison, I find the CZ to be heavier...
I love the Barnes TTSX (and, frankly, the Remington Trophy Copper) bullets. I’m surprised, though, that neither company offers these bullets in 140 gr options in 6.5. The heaviest is 120 gr. I get that the increased weight retention of the monolithic bullet equates it to a heavier lead-core...
McMillan Gamescout in the lightweight option. McMillan has some colors that are ready for inletting. Typically a 2-4 week turnaround time. I love this stock and run one with a Proof barrel. Perfectly light for hunting.
I just did this - Game Scout with a 22” Sender’s Light profiled Proof barrel in 6.5 creedmoor. It balances perfectly and is lighter than I was expecting.
