The NightForce NXS 2.5-10x42 model has always struck me as what the Leupold Mk 4 LR/T 3.5-10x40 should have evolved into if Leupold did not have their heads up their collective backside all of those years. Have any of the NXS 2.5-10x42 models ever been seen in combat like the older NXS...
I read through the spec sheet and see the parallax adjustment range is 10yd - Infinity. Like other posters commented, this should be a good lightweight option for an “SPR-Type” AR-10/15 platform or possibly a lightweight “hunter/tactical” bolt gun.
Lowlight, When you were working with the Burris office staff, did any of the test rifles have the XTR-II 2-10x42 model installed? If so, how did it seem to perform? I'm asking because I'm very interested in the 2-10x42 model for my FN PBR-XP .308 bolt-gun. Thanks for any info you might be able...
I would like to see an FFP MIL/MIL 2-12x42 model w/ 10 MIL per rotation turrets, side focus, and a non-illuminated TMR reticle. And try to keep the weight at 20oz or less, if possible.
To all the 'Hiders out there, I would like to get your opinions/experience on the PT&G DBM Conversion Kit. What was your experience as far as installation goes, and how reliable has the ammo feeding from the magazine to the receiver been? I'm asking because I'm considering installing one of...
If you haven't already, I would sign up over at the FN Forums. They have an entire sub-section within their forums dedicated to the SCAR 16/17 series rifles. I'm an FN bolt-gun owner myself, but have browsed through the SCAR 16/17 area a few times out of curiosity. From what I've seen over...
In .308, it seems like the best combination of muzzle velocity vs. portability seems to come in the following configurations: 20" barrel with 5R 1:10 twist-rate, or 22.5" barrel with 5R 1:11.25 twist-rate. Either of the above combinations would allow the use of +175gr bullets for target range...
Is it possible to have an existing nightforce scope w/ capped turrets sent back to the factory and upgraded to exposed turrets? As an example, say you have an nxs 2.5-10x32 with the MOAR reticle and capped .25MOA turrets. Could you send this scope back to nightforce and have it converted to...
HD1911, I agree with you. There is no reason, in my mind, why Leupold should still be making any of the Mark 4 scopes, whether SFP or FFP, with mis-matched reticle and turrets. If a Mark 4 has M1/M2/M3(MOA) turrets, it should have an "MOA-calibrated" version of the TMR reticle factory...
I was in contact with the Leupold custom Shop in November in regards to having an existing Mark 4 3.5-10x40 SFP TMR (model 60020), upgraded from M1 to M5 turrets. At that time, they advised me that such an upgrade is possible, and would cost $195 plus shipping. Leupold also advised me at that...
Another thought about this thread...have any of you heard when Leupold might have the new TS-32 MOA reticle upgrade available for the Mark 4 3.5-10x40 models?
Glad to see this from Leupold!! I have been considering having the Leupold Custom Shop modify a Mark 4 LR/T 4.5-14x40 "target" scope by upgrading it to this reticle and M1 turrets. I think this would be a good lightweight "target range" scope for my FN .308 bolt gun. Any thoughts on this??
