    Max magnification for a spotter?

macfly, I think you pretty much have it figured out. The 20-60x80 has the HD glass and the 12-40x60 does not. Good job. Tim

    Max magnification for a spotter?

"Actually the current Mark 4's aren't using their HD glass either. I looked at the website and noticed it wasn't marked as their HD glass. Upon speaking with a friend who works there he said that they tried to make the Mark 4 spotters with the HD glass but they found that the HD coatings were...

    Tactical Matches and travel

To those of you who fly to matches, how do you transport your equipment? I assume that your rifle and scope can be packed in a Pelican case or something similar. What about your other equipment? Do you just put it in a suitcase? I have always wondered about this. Are there any issues with the...

    Max magnification for a spotter?

Thanks for the correction. I thought I typed IV not V. I simplified and used "4". Tim

    Max magnification for a spotter?

This version does not have the reticle. I was referring to the Mark 4's with Mil-Dot or TMR reticles. I believe I read that here on the hide. I could certainly be wrong. Tim

    Max magnification for a spotter?

If I am not mistaken, the Mark 4 spotters with reticle do not have the HD glass. I believe the HD models can have a reticle added by the Leupold custom shop. Tim

Rifle Scopes ffp bad for 1000+

Holeshot, There is a gentleman from your state named LoneWolfUSMC. He has a series of videos called "Mail Call Mondays" on YouTube. I believe you will find them very helpful. The videos are approximately 30minutes long. He covers equipment including scopes. I believe that there are several...

Rifle Scopes ffp bad for 1000+

Holeshot, Welcome to the hide. The reticle thickness of some FFP scopes will not cover an 8" bull. The SWFA SS 5-20x50 is only 0.05 mils thick. It would cover 1.8" at 1000 yards. Hope this helps. Tim

Rifle Scopes Second Focal Plane Correction Question

DFOOSKING, "If your reticle subtends properly at 20X....meaning from dot to dot it is 1 mil. Then at 10X your reticle is 2 mils per dot to dot." This is exactly what I thought. Thanks for the videos. Need to study more. Tim

Rifle Scopes Second Focal Plane Correction Question

Rifle Scopes Second Focal Plane Correction Question

Matt, Thanks for responding. I am confused. If I was using a SFP mil dot scope that was correct on 20x, I understand that on 10x the sub-tensions would be doubled. If I had to make a 1 mil correction, you are saying that I would dial 1 mil regardless of power? Wouldn't 1 mil at 10x be twice as...

Rifle Scopes Second Focal Plane Correction Question

Hide Members, On a SFP scope like the Sightron 8-32x56, are dialed corections the same on all powers? For instance, if I need to correct 2 MOA, would I dial the same on 32x and 16x? I'm thinking on 16x, I would adjust half. Am I correct? Thank you for your help. Tim
