The V22 action does a great job getting the bullet loaded into the chamber without damaging it at all and that shows in how the Vudoos shoot so many types of ammunition well at 50 yards. After that though the quality of the ammunition starts to take over. Having consistent ammunition shot to...
It became obvious to me early on the Ruger was more interested in capitalizing on the success of the center fire RPR than putting out its 22lr equivalent. I gave up after 5 months of trying everything to get it to shoot well. I'm also done with Ruger for any future purchases.
My wife's Bartlein has a flat breech, my ace has the hybrid cone. They shoot the exact same ammo almost exactly the same. The hybrid cone was all about running more reliably with a suppressor deal
These rifles shoot about everything well at 50 yards. 100 yards is when you start to determine the true consistency of different lots and types of ammo. Even then most of the time you might be splitting hairs while trying to choose one above the other.
I didn't see a reason not to go with the 30moa rail when I ordered my Vudoo. Later I added a set of Burris signature rings to add another 15moa of can't to get more available elevation in my scope, (AMG has 27mils). I recently bought another scope with 32 mills of adjustment and tonight I change...
I'll use the Burris Signature adjustable rings so I can get almost everything in elevation. Currently on my AMG I have .5mil under and 27mil above. When I mount the new Athlon Ares ETR I'll set it uptake same way except with the 60moa base. I only want/need .3 to .5 under and I'll use a 50yd...
In our January ELR22 match we shot out to 550 yards. I could get there between dialing and reticle. By the time we get to our next ELR22 match I want to be capable of getting to 600 yards. After 400 yards everything becomes extremely critical so I want to do as much as possible on the turrets.
What's in a name.... Apparently $1600 I really don't know what GAP can do extra that Jay at VGW doesn't already do. After spending a bit of time at VGW either ordering or picking up my rifles I know the care that they take to put together a top of the line rifle. My new rifle will come factory...
I believe that I tried medium rings with my PST II but had to got to xtra-high to get good clearance with the bolt handle. The barrel clearance never was an issue, it's all about the bolt handle.
