Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
You guys were right about RCBS customer service, it is top notch! They are sending me a new unit free of charge  (y) About getting the Forster unit, and possibly running without the expander, I will wait and see how accurate the reloads from the standard setup will be and go from there...
Bought a used RCBS full length die set, it has apparently been dropped during the shipment and the result can be seen here: This is really weird, I thought the storage box was supposed to keep the dies in place but if it is shaken around they will fall out of the slots. Anyway, a replacement...
Is there a list of different bullet plastic tip lengths somewhere? I can find total length of every type but it seems the plastic tip length is usually left out by manufacturers. I need it to correctly calculate theoretical stability of various hunting bullets in a 1 in 10 twist rate.
Thank you for the list! Looks like the VX-Freedom line will replace VX-R then. Will be interesting to see if they upgrade the glass or just run the same with larger tubes and how that compares to he VX-R models. The Twilight Hunter reticle sounds interesting though, any idea what that will look...
Makes me wonder what is coming to replace the VX-R series, maybe I should have waited till after SHOT? ? Oh well, whatever it is would probably cost more anyway, and I have stretched my budget as far as I can.
The VX-R 3-9x40 turned out to be sold when I called the shop, but I was offered a brand new 3-9x50 for $550 shipped instead which sells for $800 so I grabbed it. It only weighs 23 grams more with the larger objective lens so it was a no brainer
Just picked up a lightly used Howa Hogue 1500 stainless in .243 Win for dirt cheap, and need a scope to go with it. It will be used for hunting whitetail deer and foxes, plus the occational plinking day at the range. I live in Norway so the pricing I mention will probably be higher than what you...
Which dot size would you recommend for a secondary sight on an AR-15? 3 moa or 6moa? It is going on my IPSC match rifle mounted on the forearm at 45 degrees, and will only be used at very close range because of lower height over bore and through tight/low openings.
The Cronus came in the mail today, and I have to say the first impression is pretty damn nice! Very clear glass (to me), impressive build quality and the turrets are not all that bad. The elevation turret was a bit mushy, so I removed the grease and applied a thin layer of Slip 2000 Extreme...
There are no import restrictions on scopes, but we have a 25% import tax on both new and used items. So a 2nd hand Razor HD 2 import would break my budget by quite alot anyway. The Meopta doesn’t seem to come with a christmas tree reticle, and I’m betting it will be far too expensive here anyway...
The Delta Stryker is a bit more expensive at $2000, and as far as I know it is also made by LOW in Japan. It is not a scope I have considered because of my budget but if I end up returning the Cronus I will have to check it out.
