Flying after a reloading session and carrying a range bag past TSA

I've traveled to shooting competitions on planes since 1992. Checking guns and gear every time. I've seen some amazing shit and most of it was mistakes by the TSA or stupidity by the TSA. A buddy brought his shooting bag as a carry-on. He had everything in there like shotgun chokes...

    6.5 Creedmoor load development?

26". Signs that you've hit some pressure are Sticky Bolt Lift, Ejector Mark on the Case Head, etc.. Go here for The Method Ladder testing at 1k- Detailed article and video - Page 3 - Long Range Hunting Online Magazine

    6.5 Creedmoor load development?

Shoot an Audette and continue up till you hit pressure. I used to use W-760 which is the same powder as H-414 with the 139 Scenar. You should actually be able to get more velocity than with H-4350. I was in the 2900 range up around 43 grains

    6.5 Creedmoor load development?

Shoot a long range Audette Ladder. This one was with the 6.5 Creedmoor at 600 yards: Huge node from 41.9 grains of H-4350 to 43.1. Chose the middle and load #5 which was 42.5 grains. Shot a group at another aimpoint on the same target: That's a 2" total 4-shot group with one of the...

Anyone ever sent their GemPro250 in on warranty?

Ditto. Did nothing but slow down my reloading process. Same problems with zeroing and the delay on the display after dropping a few kernels of powder caused redo's all the time. The RCBS digital and Balance beam are the only way to go

Does a ladder test verify what the objective muzzle velocity will be?..

It is not a reverse ocw. It is an Audette Ladder or Incremental Load Development.

Does a ladder test verify what the objective muzzle velocity will be?..

Audette's Ladders are my preferred development tool. If you change anything on a load you have derived from an Audette, I would re-shoot the Audette with the changes. Here's one I shot on Thursday with the Creedmoor at 600 yards. New lot of H4350 from 41.3 to 43.1 in .3 gr increments, 139...

    Horizontal stringing

Seating depth affects stringing. Could be the load. Also could be a parallax issue with the scope tricking you about where you are aiming.

Ladder test interpretation needed. maybe made a mistake.....

I would shoot another ladder and continue upward till you hit pressure. 2800 with a 210 is leaving a lot on the table with H-1000. I'll bet you'll see another node in the upper velocity ranges

    WC872 Surplus Powder in a 338 Norma?

Tried H-870 (T870) in the Norma Mag with the 250 Accubond. Waaaay too slow burning. WC-872 will be too slow as well. Had good luck with Ramshot Magnum burn rate powders. I'd be interested to see what RL-33 would do...

    260 Rem Load Worries

Most everybody who has replied to you thinks that every lot of H-4350 has the same burn rate. Wrongo. I shoot the 139 Scenar from my Creedmoor and have used H-4350 for years. The lots vary. I had one lot where 41.3 grains was the load and had a velocity of 2750. Pressure was found at 42...
