6 ARC load recommendations- 18” AR

Hi all. I did a search here by found very little info on 6 ARC load data. I’m just getting ready to dive into the loading process and any info would be much appreciated. I built an AR w/ a PROOF 18” stainless. So far it shoots well out to 1k with factory Hornady 108 ELDM loads. My plan is to...

What scope is everyone running for elr

That's very interesting, thank you for that. Takes all (or most) of the user subjectivity out of the equation. As it should.

    Proof Research gas ports undersized?

Ok, I'll try that before I send it back. Thanks!

    6mm ARC extremely dirty?

Holy crap!!! I did a carbine course with well over 1500 rounds (probably 2K) over a weekend with no cleaning and it wasn't a quarter as dirty as that.

    Proof Research gas ports undersized?

Ah sorry, you are correct. It's an 18" +1 gas system, not +2. On the other stuff, I'm pretty content that all of the components are top end and brand new. The BCG, type 2 Bolt, adjustable Gas block, buffer and spring are all new JP components. The Gas tube is Proof's that came with the...

    Proof Research gas ports undersized?

Sorry, that's BS to attack the poster for not reading instructions. I'm having the exact same issue on an 18"+2 gas system. I wrote to Proof and they were initially super helpful and responded right away to try a bunch of different things. Obviously they suggested checking the gas block...

    Carbon ring removal

It's probably been answered elsewhere, but what causes the carbon ring and is there anything to do to prevent it or slow it down? Is it from the Case necks being oversized and not allowing it to form a seal? Or just the nature of the game?

    **6 Creedmoor**

No experience with the N540, but I'm having amazing success with IMR 4451 and 105 Hybrids in both my 6 CM Bolt (AI AT - Proof barrel) and my new JP 6CM upper. My bolt gun also really loves the 109 LR Hybrids with 4451 as well. I find that powder is a great substitute for H4350 and is typically...

6 ARC dies - what do you recommend for precision loading?

Last question..... does the 6 PPC seater die work well for the ARC? I've seen some other posts that reference using that die as a substitute. Just wondered if anyone has tried it and what the results are.

6 ARC dies - what do you recommend for precision loading?

Thanks @alamo5000 and @Lunchbag for the tip on the Mighty Armory dies. I had not heard of them. A quick look at them looks really interesting. I mandrel all my various calibers with an LE Wilson mandrel die (love it), but I like that the Mighty Armory does both in one step.

    That sounds good. Thank you!

6 ARC dies - what do you recommend for precision loading?

Cool, thanks. However, I was not really expecting "problems" with the dies. I'm sure they turn out acceptable ammo just fine. What I was interested in is are the Hornady "match" dies on the same level of precision as the Redding Competition dies or such? I've been spoiled by my Reddings for...

6 ARC dies - what do you recommend for precision loading?

So, I'm building a 6 ARC AR-15 upper for long range precision. I'm planning to take it out to 1200+ as well as maybe do some AR-15 Tac Comps with it. What reloading dies do you all recommend? From an interwebs search, it seems the options are basic Hornady or RCBS Matchmaster dies on 17 month...
