    You all make a good point about looking at higher mags. Sounds like the Midas and the RT6 are my best options if I were to go 1-6. I have looked in to 2-10 or 2-12's at all, but it sounds like they're worth a look. What should I be looking at in that mag range?

    what do you use to kill tree rats

    +1 for a good air rifle. I've got a good RWS that pushes a .177 at 1200 fps. It's killed birds, squirrels, even a good sized rabbit. Just takes a good shot.

    that's something I think I will definitely look into. Sounds like a good place to work on fundamentals. Id still like to have a good range to practice the things I learn though.
