Maggie’s POLL: Pop Tarts Vs. Toaster Strudels

Pop Tarts get my vote, they make for an easy field snack with lots of carbs for quick energy. I wouldn't want to be walking around with a strudel in my cargo pocket. If it was on taste alone the strudel would have ranked higher.

Attending a tactical match with a "physical profile"

Thanks for the input. Now I just need to get my broken ass out to some matches, just not much going on in the SE Texas region in the way of tactical/practical rifle matches.

    7mm Berger 175 xld anyone?

Anyone know why they discontinued it? Was it just lack of sales?

    7mm-08

All comes down to what you need the rifle to do. If punching paper/steel out to 1K is all the rifle will be doing then the .243 is hard to beat with the same drop/drift as the 6.5/7mm, but with the added feature of minimal recoil. If hunting gets added to the equation energy on target becomes a...

    7mm-08

I see what you were saying now. I thought you were directly comparing the BC of the 6/6.5/7mm bullets. In a side by side comparison of the 162 amax and the 140 VLD of retained velocity and energy both starting at 2800fps (JBM calc - Litz BC); At 500y 162 = 2093fps/1575ft-lbs -- 140 =...

Need to go over your numbers again.

    7mm-08

For long distance shooting the 6mm and 6.5mm have less recoil, less drop, and damn near the same windage. Also the 7mm-08 has very few options for factory match ammo - not a problem for the reloader but a consideration. For hunting and energy on target the 7mm is definitely the top pick, but...

Attending a tactical match with a "physical profile"

What's the protocol on injuries in tactical matches? Are you just DQ'ed from any stage you can't physically perform or will the RO let you perform a modified version?

    175smk seating depth

Re: 175smk seating depth I'm currently at .01" off the lands and getting .5-.75 MOA. Planning to work up in .003" increments and see if it tightens anything up (kissing the lands will put me right at max mag length). If I don't see any results I'll work down from .01" in .003" increments...

    175smk seating depth

I know that the 175smk is considered a jump tolerant bullet, but is there an optimal jump range that the smk prefers to be within?
