    Gunsmithing Re-bedding a stock

Re: Re-bedding a stock I did the same thing to a rifle a few years ago. I only removed the bedding in the area that needed to be removed, barrel and lug area. I used a dremel and roughed up the area where I removed the old bedding. Be careful not to get the new bedding material on the...

Re: Next hunting rifle Ruger No.1 in 6.5 Creedmore I love mu #1 in .270 Win. I've had it for almost 20 years and never felt handicaped with having only 'one' shot. Make that one shot count and you won't need another!!!

    Reloader-15 Discontinued??

Re: Reloader-15 Discontinued?? I got a reply to my e-mail from Alliant today. Acording to Ben Amonette, Consumer Service Manager with Alliant, Reloader 15 is alive and well and is NOT going to be discontinued. That still doesn't tell me WHY I can't find any locally? Maybe the guys in the...

    Savage 10PC Accustock W/O ACCUWEDGE!!

Re: Savage 10PC Accustock W/O ACCUWEDGE!! What were the customers complaining about? I don't have a problem with the accu-wedge in my M-10PC. My only complante with the M-10PC is the accu-trigger not cocking everytime I close the bolt. I wonder if they will exchange it for a Timmney?

Re: Impact Of Age On Brass I have several hundred rounds of once fired LC National Match brass from the 70's to the 90's. At the present time I'm using two batches a LC match-72 head stamp lot and an LC match-85 head stamp lot. All are holding up as well or better than current FC brass I...

    Reloader-15 Discontinued??

Re: Reloader-15 Discontinued?? I was at Simmons Sporting Goods in Bessemer, the guy I talked to said they hadn't had any R-15 in months and couldn't get any, they had plenty of everything else on the shelf so no general shortage of powder. I shot an e-mail off to Alliant Friday asking if...

Re: Fuggit... I'm shooting Hornady bullets. Been using Hornadys, usually the SST's, for years with zero problems. I use the money I save to buy the expensive powder from the local shops.

What do you guys like for a finish?

Re: What do you guys like for a finish? I did a rifle and a pistol in Brownells Alumi Hyde II. Both turned out well but, the finish is rather 'thick' and the slide on the pistol took a LOT of work to run smooth. I had no trouble with the rifle, everything went together just fine. The...

Hunting & Fishing lock ons or climbers?

Re: lock ons or climbers? Summit Viper now that I'm older. But, like you I used 'tree gafs' and lock-on's for years until my knees decided thay had had enough abuse. I figured at age 60 I'd start using a climber. Man, the Summit Viper is a comfortable stand, I sometimes wonder WHY I stayed...

Rifle Scopes 100 yd or 200 yd zero???

Re: 100 yd or 200 yd zero??? I zero ALL of my rifles for 200 yds., .223's, .270's, 30-06's, .308's and my 6.8x43. No matter which I shoot I always know where it's going to hit no matter if I'm hunting or killing paper. If I need to shoot at longer ranges then I adjust my scope but otherwise...
