I shoot a savage 12FVSS 308. Manufactured at the end of 2011. I have never had a single extraction issue. Over 240 factory federal loads and 300+ reloads using federal brass. I only bump the should .001 . Definitly check that front mount screw. I dont have any other suggestions myself but...
Just picked up a like new used kestral 4500. Question: Is the wind speed fan supposed to sound like a kazoo?? It seems accurate from vehicle speeds but a little noise.
0.6" vertical spread at 200yrds (.3 MoA) out of my wife's savage .223 22" bolt action using Federal brass that started as Federal .223 AR Tactical (eeewww) Flash hole deburred, Primer pocket uniformed, and neck tensioned.
Thats just how SMI/15accessories bcg are machined. Just built a rifle with a cmmg upper their bolt while being different had the same lathe marks on the races....... For what its worth.
That's about how my bolts look as well. However I removed some of the finish my self, I remove the ejector and chuck the bolt in a drill and run steel wool on the face to smooth it out a bit. I find it helps to reduce the brass collection on the bolt which is common of almost any parkerized...
Soft compared to hardend steel. However it is very possible to have aluminum be harder than steel. Hardness/strength/elastisity etc arer not exclusive to ferrous metals. Aluminum can be quite hard, but it becomes brittle. Steel can be dead soft, depending how it is alloyed to the point you can...
I do own KNS pins and I own geissele triggers so I don't even care too much except to get info out to those who ask. I don't think you are going to have any real issues either way unless you shoot way more than most shooters....... Link to Bill Geissele talking about pins. Go to...
Yes that is true. Gieselle triggers use a kind of inbetween sized pin. So it will fit in tight lowers but not be too sloppy in loose ones. They are also centerless ground which is very precise and much harder steel than KNS and even most mil spec pins
Yes. You are correct. However the carbon trace is very defined and center over the port. I do have said gap. WOA dimples their barrels from the factory aswell so its kind of a no brainer.
Lol that was a good one. Yes the rifle locks open on hotter loaded ammo. I'm thinking this is a PMC issue. Since posting I have ran across several references online of ARs with middy tubes or even carbine with full mass carriers not even cycling the stuff.. I was cycling it ok just not quite...
