Yep, was so happy to see there was hope after all for my B&C stock that I did a Newbie move and posted before looking further.....actually,there are a couple of threads on doing the texture in this section.

Rifle Scopes anyone have one of these scopes ?

Yeah, they actually do, saw one sitting on the shelf at a custom rifle buiders shop, customer was some dentist or chiropractor, I forget which, but apparently he insisted it was the best long range scope going and it was going on his rifle......wonder if he paid the fair value of $7000 or so ???!!!?

Done a wee bit of smithing on the tailgate of my truck !! Like the AR barrel change using bar clamps and 2x4's as an action wrench .........

Altering a Bell and Carlson stock

I agree with all the posters on the B&C stocks being pretty handy with the tools, I plan on re-contouring mine to my own liking. My big question is.....how in the hell do you guys get that nice looking texture on the grip and forend ?Looks really good on all the pics in this thread, what is the...

    Buying a used 22/45?

I bought one a couple of months ago, mainly because I needed a 22lr for trapping season and it had a threaded barrel for my can. Biggest drawback I've seen with mine is the re-assembly after field stripping, kind of a bitch the first time you do it.....also, I don't like the fact it can't be...

Hey !!! I lost lotsa posts, about 1700 in all, and don't care as long as it doesn't affect my status in the rare event I post something for sale in the PX, which it doesn't..........what really bothers me is getting busted to private ! I swear I didn't burn that piss test !!!!!!

Sidearms & Scatterguns Pistol for Grizzly Bear Country

For starters, Grizz in Interior Alaska don't go 1000+ pounds, more like 5-650#, coastal Brownies are much bigger. The size of a bear is measured by what it "squares", IE. 9'4", 6'10".....not what it weighs. Regardless of the size, I doubt it was a pissed off, charging Grizz he killed with the...

    Gunsmithing Lawton 7000 in R700 Stock ?

Both replies are correct, the Lawton was a drop in fit and I had to relieve the stock for the bolt release, in addition, the stock needed to be relieved a wee bit, appx 3/8" for the rear of the ejection port. Perfect fit, bedding the action tonight with Marine-Tex Sent from my iPhone using...

    Gunsmithing Release Agent for bedding

Very clean bedding jobs, going to take a picture of the HS stock butchered by a so called "Riflesmith" before I toss it into the trash.....worst part of it was, I was ostracized by a SH member for "Daring to inlet a HUGE Lawton 700 action into an HS R700 stock"...........drop in fit minus the...

Hunting & Fishing Minimum sized Elk cartridge

Unfortunately, we have our share of blithering idiots up here too. I've found moose to be big, stupid and fairly fragile despite their huge body size, but, shot placement goes out the window when some inexperienced asshat dusts off his "Gun" for the first time in a year, MAYBE fires three or...

    Gunsmithing Lawton 7000 in R700 Stock ?

I have an older, Barney era Lawton 7000 action and have a chance at a ready to ship, R700 LA Manners stock. I plan on running PTG Remington bottom metal and the action is already fitted for a Wyatts EBM. My question is, will the Lawton drop in or how much fitting is required? I understand the...
