    Rifle blowing primers after Nitride

I don't want to use this 22x47 barrel. I want to switch the gun to 6.5x47 Lapua and need a gunsmith to install a new barrel. Thank you.

    Rifle blowing primers after Nitride

I have a 22x47 rifle that shot fine for the first barrel. The second barrel shot 101 rounds perfectly before being nitrided, then after nitride it started blowing primers with 95 grain bullets. Under guidance from the builder, we tried reducing powder by 2 grains and went down to 82.5 gr...

Depends on where the steel is placed on the berm, it can be a little shy of 1000 yards. There are clays between the backer boards that are 1000 yards.

No but there are 4inch orange clays on every berm. I regularly shoot at clays on the 1000 yd berm. Much more of a challenge than a 12x12 steel plate at 1000yds. :)

Good question. 20 benches and an equal amount of prone positions under the main pavilion. The new pavilion will have 5 benches and several prone positions. The new arena has three shooting positions. Plus a 100 sight-in target with one bench and prone positions too.

The new pavilion sits on a small mound, is to the left and a little behind the main pavilion. A new dirt berm isolates the two pavilions from each other.

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I've had my RPR in 6.5 Creedmoor a few years now. I reload 140 ELD-M with H4350 giving me 2800FPS. Last year I decided to try my hand at 1000 yd benchrest. My best 5 shot group at 1,000 yards last year was 6.67 inches. Not too shabby. I replaced the factory stock with a MagPul stock...

    Precision Rifles.....show em!!

TVP 22x47. The rifle was built by Tom Sarver at Thunder Valley Precision. The brass starts life as 6.5x47 Lapua before I get it resized to 22x47. Lots of worked involved especially turning the necks. But at 100 yds it puts three shots through the same hole. It shoots a 95gr SMK .224 bullet...

Tom is building new targets out to 2500 yds along with a new shooting pavilion. The new targets are not ready quite yet but the new pavilion is built. The other berms for open range have steel and orange clays. Hitting an orange clay at 1,000 yds or...
