Night Vision PVS-14 black boxing question.

Yup, should be good. You can also check if you trust the day cap you got by... looking. Turn on with it on with the lights on (and the eyecup in normal position to get best, un-molested view) and see if any glow at all, to check for light leaks. Illuminator /shouldn't/ burn in but yeah many...

Night Vision PVS-14 black boxing question.

Agree, max gain. And: you cannot be black enough as you are leaving it on for a long time, and an error can make it much worse. Find or make solid caps, in a dark-colored or lined, case, inside a pelican case, in the back of a closet, in a room which generally has the lights off. Blem? I'd say...

AA batteries in your Coyote Call (Amazon Basics?)

Nope. Amazon wants their Basics to be considered baseline-but-quality so get pretty good to as-good-as-it-gets quality for many things. Their rechargeables, for example, at least used to be from the same factory as Eneloops. Anecdotally, I have had crazy good results, and their lithium 9v is my...

AA batteries in your Coyote Call (Amazon Basics?)

For some devices rechargeables are great. Lithium chemistry so get all the life and safety expectations but if freezing weather is possible, I avoid them. The electrolyte in lithium batteries is still prone to freezing. They make low-temp batteries but all other considerations aside, they don't...

Trijicon RMR has left the chat

This. I have seen or had dozens of irons go bad. Just fixed one on a (milsurp) rifle for a friend last week. The S&W entry was eliminated from the JSAAP competition (from whence we got the M9) because the front sight fell off, repeatedly. Not to mention the many times I've gotten mud or snow or...

AA batteries in your Coyote Call (Amazon Basics?)

I am on the expensive-and-rarely-change side also. Here's one summary of studies actual EEs and so on do where it indicates how unit price cost is not a true measure, and cost per hour is lower for lithium primaries. https://cheap-batteries.com/blogs/news/lithium-vs-alkaline-batteries Also...

AA batteries in your Coyote Call (Amazon Basics?)

Agree, L91s go in a ton of stuff, even some kids toys. The power drain curve means lithium chemistry of all sorts power electronics notably longer than alkalines, and lithium primaries are much more effective in the cold, so I'd 100% use them in anything like the call that goes outside.

    Question about 13.9in vs 14.5in

Something like that yes, and that's why 18" for shotguns. Was one set of lengths for all long arms, but change was only to rifles to make sure it's confusing.

Rifle Scopes Steiner T6Xi 3-18x56 Review and comparison with NF ATACR 4-16x42, S&B US 3-20x50 and March 4.5-28x52

I have two different Steiner T6x (and can therefore testify to their warranty being exceptional: both are free replacements for old Military series where the electronics died: note some warranties have VERY limited electronic timeframes) and some friends have a couple more I have seen...

    Mounting rings on rail

This. There are cross-slots that work as locators and recoil lugs So Use Them. Aside from the last ditch safety against slipping for any cause, it also gives you that much more precision to locate the system if you take it apart. Which happens for any number of reasons. Good procedure like...

Precision Rifle Gear Does anyone make a ARCA rail hand cover?

A few fit tests. ARCA rails are even more diverse than we thought. @kkroger will be examining these fit measures and see what to do next. Likely, will offer with several profiles, tapered vs square, to get a better fit range for every install. Trying to fit to specific dovetail profiles seems...

    Night Vision Perst 4?

No where new/currently imported because sanctions. All will be purchased in the past, likely used. Prices rise slowly every month as availability is fixed or diminishing from attrition. I sold one last year for 3x what I paid for it. DO as pointed out be aware they became popular enough there...

Precision Rifle Gear Does anyone make a ARCA rail hand cover?

Closer yet. Top needs work (radius) which isn't done because of things I do not get about how printing works, but he'll work on it. Should get this tomorrow to try on all my many rails to make sure it works, and works well enough what with ARCA not /really/ having a spec so across a reasonable...

Precision Rifle Gear Does anyone make a ARCA rail hand cover?

He was way ahead of this shape thing, already done on rev 2. Still needs more radius but now it's blocky profile and fits apparently properly (he's like 40 min from me, I haven't seen it yet):
