    This is the way to go. I wanted a hunter stock for my 06 but couldn't find one anywhere. Bought a 243 hunter for my daughter, stole the stock and cut down my lite stock for her. I wouldn't be surprised if the hunter stock brought $200. Just buy one with the bolt face you need.

    You will be thoroughly impressed with the 5-20. It is a substantial upgrade from the 3-15.

    Savage bedding question

    I've always floated mine and they all shot well enough. Never bedded one to know the difference. It makes since to me to float it since it appears to be like a cantilever. Looks like bedding it would induce stress.

    My point was to let the op know they have two "big" sales/year. Some time back the deals were similar but more recently the tax day sales became less attractive. I grabbed a 5-20 on a bf deal for $975 one year, quite a bit better than the current tax day price.

    They will run another sale on black Friday. The deals are usually a little better then.
