Sup? Been here a little while, read and learned a ton. Never saw the new member introduction page. Yeah. Sometimes I’m that guy. I shoot at Parma rod&gun.
The locking ring is against the diopter which is where it should be after properly adjusting diopter focus. Once the dipoter is set, and the locking ring snugged up against the diopter everything from the magnification ring to the eyepiece rotates in unison. I believe the scope was designed this...
Maybe I'm doing a shit job explaining what's happening. When I adjust magnification, the diopter (where the rear cap is attached) rotates in unison with the magnification adjustment. I've been monkeying around with it and I lose a portion of magnification depending on where I seat the cap. I'm...
Just took my new ATACR 4-16x50 F1 to the Range. LOVE this optic - Glass, turrets, etc exceeded expectations. However, the Tenebraex caps and the fact that the diopter turns is f'ing me up big time. I was engaging targets at multiple distances (I was adjusting the power) and the hinge on the...
I ran a 21st Century flash hole deburring tool through all 200 cases and only removed a meaningful amount of material out of about 25 of them. Have you shot your new brass yet? I've only heard good reports from the range on it. My build isn't completed yet so.....
I ordered my 200 pcs on 12/7 and got them in the mail today. Looks like good brass - flash holes look drilled and not punched. I weighed 50 pcs and stopped. Very consistent. Now that I have the brass I’m starting my build. Should be ready by next hunting season.
I ordered 200 pcs of Bertram 6.5 SAUM brass a couple eeeks ago. I emailed them and they replied that the brass has already been manufacturered and that it should ship by the end of December. Fingers are crossed!
Got an email from the manufacturer, they’re sending me a new scope. Problem resolved but I don’t think I’m going to pimp my scopes anymore. Rosin in rigs sounds like a good idea. I’ll have to remember that one.
I totally get the concept of the duracoat adding some thickness (as minute as it may be). That being said, there are tens of thousands of painted scopes out there and I’ve never heard of paint affecting the performance of a scope. Perfect storm? Maybe? I’m just throwing the scenario out there to...
It’s just the scope that has duracoat. The rings aren’t treated. I have other scopes that are duracoated and have never had an issue. The same guy has done the work across a few scopes of mine. I’ve never had an issue with any of them. Talked to him about it and he’s never had an issue with any...
I have an optic that’s at the manufacturer for service. Won’t consistently hold zero. Sent it back 2 years ago, they recommended I switch to their rings and adhere to their torque specs. Bought their rings, adhered to torque settings. Fast forward to now, and it’s back with them for the same...
