I'm considering picking up a local used 40-X in 7.62 NATO, and I'd like to be able to drop it in a short action HS M24 stock I have with the adjustable LOP and M24 contour barrel channel. I will of course keep the original stock it comes with safe, and it'll go back in it if I ever sell. I've...
Was told a fella's Marine buddy would use the gravitational pull of the moon in his ballistic calculations. Never heard of Tidal Trajectory drift, but maybe I've been living under a rock.
Try as many different types of Mcmillan stocks as you can get your hands on! I've owned 4 A5's, each with the integral cheek piece and I vastly prefer my current A3 with the saddle style. I also use mine in iffy terrain, so if I drop my rifle and damage the cheekpiece (I break everything) I can...
If nothing stripped I'd say you're probably just fine, as long as 24in/lb was snug the second time. If you're really worried, the easiest fix would be to have a good rifle smith open the 6/48 screw holes to the #8 magnum screw holes. Then call seekins precision or whoever you like, and ask for a...
Sure do, just got back from day 2 at 200-1200 with the M2013. Gun holds under 1/2 moa with me holding it back, I can't hold steadier than 1/2 most of the time.
I just built a Badger M2013 338LM and I couldn't be happier. It's got a Schneider barrel, AICS stock, NF optic and the whole build including glass was around $5500. Not too bad for hand selected parts and great smithing. I had all of the barrel/ action work done by Phoenix Custom Rifles, and the...
First day at the range, and an unbelievable performance from my 338 M2013 build. The initial zero was at 25yds and then straight to 1200 on a KD range. Ballistic AE on my phone was spot on, and with its data my wife and I were ringing a 19"x27" steel plate. Southern AZ's shifting winds in the...
Thanks Deano! The action is extremely smooth, and a bit of oil makes it glide beautifully. As for accuracy, the Badger/Schneider barreled action should shoot tight groups; especially when I get some dies and work up a load. The action is impressively heavy and has a long tenon, which should help...
Here's mine! Just finished scoping it today. This is my first totally custom rifle, I'm really impressed with the action and all the work by Badger and Phoenix Custom Rifles. Many thanks to both for making this rifle possible. <a href="http://imgur.com/NdiHfH9"><img...
+1 on improper parallax. If that doesn't work see about having your rifle professionally put together by a smith who can lap your rings and torque everything properly. SD
jdr724 that is definitely the truth. I failed to mention that the half magnification (10x in this case) needs to be marked so that it is repeatable one accurately measured. I use a gold paint pen on the magnification ring to make a small line, that line's left and right edges can be very closely...
