50mm obj. on standard stock 10/22 = turkeyneck?

Re: 50mm obj. on standard stock 10/22 = turkeyneck? Thanks for the info guys . I ended up going with the 50mm, and based on the info in this thread I'll be very careful about picking the lowest rings possible once I get the gun and the scope together to do some measurements.

To those of you with 50~mm objective lens scopes on your standard stock (i.e. ruger target stock, etc) 10/22s, does it seem like you have to mount it uncomfortably high to clear the barrel? (uncomfortable like you find yourself turkeynecking to see through it)

Rifle Scopes Help me choose one of these lower-priced scopes?

Re: Help me choose one of these lower-priced scopes? What's the closest you think those 6-24x scopes can get without experiencing parallax? Seems like the AO adjustment would take care of it from 15-20 yards on (assuming we're talking 6x), no?

Re: Help me choose one of these lower-priced scopes? By the way, I came across this nitrex one and figured I'd throw it into the mix (even though I've already got some good options it seems) http://www.natchezss.com/Optics.cfm?cont...xPlex%20Reticle

Rifle Scopes Help me choose one of these lower-priced scopes?

Re: Help me choose one of these lower-priced scopes? Thanks for the reply. I was looking at these the other day, but it seems like a fair share of people have had some complaints about the quality of the cheaper crosshair model compared to their higher priced stuff (Which seems to get good...

Rifle Scopes Help me choose one of these lower-priced scopes?

So I've got a few pistols but I'd like to branch out and buy a rifle. I was looking at maybe the ruger 10/22 target tactical (decent, with room to improve if I want to put more money into it in the future) so I can practice on the cheap. Anyway, this leaves me in the market for a scope. Since...
