True, but this is where the make up is different. Gas guns have moving parts...and lots of them. The bolt gun does not per se. In order for the gas gun to be precise shot after shot, everything needs to come to rest in the same exact spot as the prior shot. Hence, having to spend a fortune...

Well, on my 300 wsm, I have a Ziess conquest 4.5-14. I shoot far better at 100 when I'm at 4.5X than 14. Same with my 7 mag with a leo 4.5-14. Give it a try. At 100 yards, I can easily pick out any kind of target at 4.5X. Sure, it's small but I can still see it. Shoot say, a 5 shot group...

Correct me if I'm wrong here folks, but I thought MOA was set up for yards opposed to mil and meters. So....1 MOA at 100 yds is 1.05"...1 mil at 100 meters is 1 cm. I use MOA because I'm use to yds.

The other thing I noticed...you shouldn't need to be at 24x when shooting at a 100. I do better the lower the power I'm on. When your done shooting, you can dial up to 24x to review your shot placement.

I don't mind shooting off a bench. However, I almost never use a bipod for load development or precision shooting. Pick up some shooting bags instead if your using the bench. I use the bipods for prone work...

Yep, sorry. I'm the tard here. I did quite a bit of reading on ladder testing after I posted on this thread. Your theory looks sound from what I've read. Are you going to try the same ladder again to verify your results?

I always set my variable scopes half way through the power range when setting up. I then do a quick draw for an off-hand type of shot there to see if I have a complete picture. Adjust and repeat until you feel comfortable. I'll check on all power ranges and when I feel I'm close or there for...
