    Kestrel Ballistic News

Will the PLRF25C connect with the 5700 Elite X "and" the HUD at the same time?

    PRS Talk pants?

yea, I know, but they are very stretchy in the right areas and seem to last forever.

    PRS Talk pants?

https://www.cryeprecision.com/ProductDetail/aprcpf0232r_g3-all-weather-combat-pant Expensive, but very comfortable and the knee pads are worth it

    Kestrel 5700 Elite Battery life

I notice that the percent indication is temperature sensitive. When below 50 degrees the percent will sometimes dip below 40%, only to have it be up to 100% when the temp warms up. Perhaps it is the lithium battery? It has never failed me thought.

    Leica HD-B 3000

Oh Boy, My mistake. I was comparing my earlier Leicas HD-Bs to my HD-3000 Leicas. Earlier post corrected.

    Leica HD-B 3000

The reticle is smaller on the 3000. I’d say it fits inside the square reticle of the 2700.

    Leica HD-B 3000

I compared the Leica HD-B to the new HD-B 3000 and verified the yardage numbers with my PLRF25C. I was shooting telephone poles out to 1000ish years. Yes, I ranged farther to +2000, but it was to larger objects or hillsides. Weather was partly cloudy, clear. I needed another bino set so...

Is SRP in anything larger than .223 unsafe?

I read the same article. I simply have not experienced any issues using small primers (CCI Magnum, LaPua, 6.5CM H4350) in my short 2 years of reloading. I have shot several thousand rounds in 100 to 30F and had no issues, granted most are in temperate conditions. I am most curious what the...

You might consider butcher block. It is solid and heavy.

    Training away from the range.

I have been on a steep learning curve for two years. Seems a long time, but you never quit learning new stuff, applying it and fine tuning it : ) I have progressed using and understanding everything about the Kestrel 5700, taking classes https://cprifle.com/pages/about-us (Brian applies the use...

    AB Kestrel Cosine Correction

1000yds, DOF 0, +45 degrees 4.69U -45 degreees 4.61U 0 degrees 7.04U 7.04 * 0.707 = 4.98U : ) Well said on Calculus vs geometry. 45 degrees is an extreme, probably not realistic. I was just thinking it would be a bit closer. I was shooting up in WY last year at 30 degrees using the...

    AB Kestrel Cosine Correction

I understand the requirement of using (cosine x dope = corrected dope) to correct for the shooting angle. I use the PLRF 25C to feed data to my Kestrel, thus the angle will also be populated in the Kestrel. So I did some calculations. If I lock the weather, no wind with 0 angle at 1000 yds...

    Rifle Scopes Info On Reticles

Here is some info on Horus. I too have been on the steep learning for a year. Lots of choices. https://www.horusvision.com/download/horus_tremor3_reticle_technical_specs.pdf https://www.horusvision.com/demos.php There is also some talk on one of the Everyday Sniper podcasts (all of them...

    The Everyday Sniper Podcast

Hi Frank, I can't find the new Impact Data Book form you reference (that catalogs ballistic computer inputs). What is it called?

LabRadar Owners - Come on in !

I used mine on an indoor range yesterday with success. Yes, I had false readings when other guns beside me went off. I simply deleted that shot. Pushing buttons messed my alignment up, so you really have to play with the aiming, plus the z axis (slight tilt fore/aft, if you will). I was...
