Sidearms & Scatterguns cimmaron evil roy single action. carry question

Carry it with 5 and leave the hammer down on the empty cylinder. The Evil Roy is a great firearm. I am a big fan of single actions (CASS). With practice you can become very accurate and quick.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Another 1911 comparison thread?

Considering you have a $800 budget, I would consider the Ruger or Springfield (series 70). My personal experience is with Dan Wesson's, Kimbers, Springfield and Colt which I have had a great experience with all of them. My personal favorite is my Kimber SS Raptor.

Hunting & Fishing Hunting West Texas with my friend Ibuprofen

Great write up and hunt. I spent some time with Mike McKinny on a sucsessful Aoudad hunt in the mountain ranges east or El Paso. Three days of hiking and climbing, sometimes using all fours. A hunt to remember for ever.

Hunting & Fishing Nice Texas Hill Country Axis Buck

Originally went out for Whitetail on opening day and had this Axis buck come through a wooded with a couple of Axis does. Just about a 75 yard shot with my Remington 5R. We have them come in occasionally off an adjacent property that borders the Perdanalis River. This buck went 31 inches and is...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Ruger Wiley Clapp GP100

There's a matte stainless at my local gun store I have been looking at for awhile. It feels great and has a great reviews. I am fond of Smith and Wessons but feel compelled to recommend this gun.

Hunting & Fishing Is the Rem 700 R5 going to be terrible for hunting?

Carrying my 5R in the ranges outside of El Paso for 3 full days was very doable. Here's a few pictures of the terrain we hiked each day and all day. Yes, the extra few pounds can be felt but when its time to shoot, it's the rifle I want.

Hunting & Fishing Hunting 308 bullets

I use Federal Premium 168 Grain, Sierra Match King BTHP in my 308 Remmy 5R. This is the exit wound on a large Aoudad taken out past 200 yards. I have taken a couple of Bucks as well as a Pronghorn Antelope with the Federal premium 168 grain and all kills were clean and immediate.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Wiley Clapp Colt lightweight Commander

I love my Wiley Clapp Commander. I tend to be very accurate shooting this 1911 versus my others. The gun is extremely reliable.
