Figured I'd post this here. Looks like Lapua is going to release a 260 Remington load using the 136L bullet this summer.
Lapua 260 Remington factory load
Here is my replica for that load. This hands down is the most accurate long range load for my 20" Tikka CTR 260 Remington. Granted it isn't the fastest nor does the bullet have the highest BC as others but this load is consistent. I wasted two years chasing the perfect load because everything...
I would be leary of that website. I was about to order a shell plate for my nephews but decided against it as it felt shady and because of all the BBB complaints.
I'm 48 and just left my career of 20+ years. I'll be spending the first couple of months helping family then I plan to try and find a part time gig at one of the many gun shops in my area.
The 136 scenar L is my go to round for my Tikka CTR 260. With 41.6gr H4350, lapua brass, Federal GM210 primer and an COAL of 2.815", they shoot lights out.
I have at least 3500 rounds on my 20" Tikka CTR in .260 and the damn thing is a freakin' hammer. I shoot mild loads and figure I'll shoot this barrel until it is obviously toast. Thanks to another board member I have a factory spare barrel for when the time comes to switch.
Sweet looking rifle!! 500 yards with your current setup should be a chip shot. I can routinely make 500 yard hits on IPSC steel targets using my 12.5" Noveske AR with a 1-4x20 scope. I typically shoot a hand loaded hornady 62 bthp or 77 smk. I would just keep it as is and shoot the hell out...
I tried out the following four brands of factory loads in my 20" Tikka 260 Friday. I typically reload but my spare time is limited now so for 2019 I'm going to have to try some factory ammo if I want to do any shooting.
Berger 136gr Lapua scenar
Berger 140gr hybrid
Nosler 130gr RDF
FGMM 142gr...
I would reach out to Lapua, seems your brass is too long. I just measured a number of virgin Lapua .260 brass I have and each are 2.022 - 2.024". I trim all my 260 cases to roughly 2.025".
