Rifle Scopes Bushnell trophy XLT 4-12X40 on mosin with muzzle break

I was just wondering if a Bushnell trophy XLT 4-12X40 would stand up to a mosin nagant with a muzzle break. I also have a nikon prostaff 4-9X40, but i want to eventually put that one on a better gun.

Gunsmithing jb bore bright/bore lapping bullets.

I have an old rifle that the back twords the reciever looks dull/ lightly feosted. But the rifling is still strong. Would jb bore bright help this out and get it to a shine. Or could I use bore lapping bullets. I wanted to get the most accuracy that I can out of it

    7.62x54R cheap shooter

.308 cal loads are never that accurate in 91/30s. Look up loads for 174 in .311 or .310 sierra match kings see which dia gives you the best results . Will give you the best results .

what is this in my savage barrel

I was cleaning my save barrel and after I cleaned most of the copper fouling out of my barrel but these white dull streaks remain. One side they go all the way up to the crown the other they dont. Cleaning doesn't do anything to them. Can anyone tell me what they are .

    Max effective range of .308

You have to look at the round for what it is. Its a heavy slow round that has usually high bc. Good for making tight groupings from 50-800 yd. Out past that it is going too slow and drops really fast. And that is with a 24" to 26" barrel. Realistically with that 20"bbl you will probably get out...

    Max effective range of .308

The fact is that the 308 is not the magic round that everyone thinks it is. We have all heard of military snipers making some amazing shots at 1000 yd pluss but the the thing is those are rare. If the military is trying to make a long distance shot they go to bigger calibres.

    boydes stock on savage

Tacticool would be pretty good for that it has a really comfortabel feel. Just the look of the thumbhole

    boydes stock on savage

I was more worried about because i have to open up the barrel channel to fit the heavy barrel i just didnt know if the thumb hole would have enough room on either side.

    boydes stock on savage

I have a Tacticool and a prairie on two other rifles. A savage 22 and a modified mosin nagant. Love them both I just thought my heavy barreled savage would look better on the thumb hole or tacticool. The prairie is a good stock got great accuracy from it.

    boydes stock on savage

Hi I'm thinking a boydes stock for my savage. I am debating between the thumbhole stock or a tacticool stock. Both I will have to widen the barrel channel for heavy barrel. Used fot hog and deer hunting and shooting paper. Which one?

New stock for savage 11 Vt

I had a previous thread about a savage 11 Vt not being so accurate. Ok another thing i was going to try is getting a new stock for it. I was looking on boydes and all i could find was a stock that had a bottom bolt release but a channel not wide enough for the barrel or a top bolt release that...

cut mosin barrel vs full length.

Well looks like there is an advantage to both. I am going to keep the longer barrel i already have one with a shortened barrel and it worked well i will just see how this one works.
