I fire form improved 338LM (338 Rogue 37° shoulder) using 25gr of Unique pistol powder topped with Cream of Wheat to the shoulder/neck junction then a wadd of toilet paper tucked inside the neck. I started at 18gr of Unique and increased in 1gr increments until I got good formation of the...
I haven't shot mine since I shot it in that silhouette match I posted on steelchickens a while back. In the next couple months I'm going to shoot it in some local matches. I've been my high dollar rifle trying to keep up with the big guys. I won the Florida State match for Standard rifle...
Ok, first off... don't laugh at my video skills, and my nasal congestion (been sick with the crud for almost a month now). Posted this on the Creedmoor forum and thought I'd throw it over here too. This is a reloading press riser mount that I built in order to get my presses up a little...
I currently own 10 Leupold scopes, some old - some new. I mainly compete in metallic silhouette (both smallbore and highpower) and no matter where in the United States I go to a competition out of all the rifles on the line 90%+ will have Leupold scopes on them. This is a group of shooters that...
Of course you guys are showing what these rifles can do, but.... you guys can freaking shoot! Nice work! Next time I want to test ammo I'm not sending my rifles to Lapua, I'm sending them to you.
One last thing. Probably the best thing going right now is the Lapua Testing Center in Mesa Arizona. You can ship them your barreled action and $50 and they will test a bunch of different lots and types of their ammunition through your rifle. They will print out all the results (velocities...
Like Merlin says... "shot out" is very subjective. It's my opinion that rimfire barrels don't ever "shoot out". They might lose their competitive edge depending on the level of competition the firearm is intended for. Is it going to be a primary firearm to take you to a gold medal in the...
Google "Champions Choice". The owner is Neil Stepp and that is THE source for Anschutz parts in the US. Hold onto your britches though. Anschutz parts are EXPENSIVE!
Right on! You should still see an "18" in the trigger frame. The only difference is a set of springs that you can swap out if you want the lighter trigger like the 5018. It is a beautiful trigger. I have two rifles with the 5018 and they do make a person smile!
Nathan, the 77/22 is a great rifle. The one I had was one of the only rimfires I've owned that felt so similar to a centerfire rifle. They just have a very RIFLE feel to them. This little American though is a low cost, high "value" rimfire. For about $260 you get a pretty accurate rifle that...
Got to the range the other day and spent some time with the Ruger American Rimfire. I shot several types of ammo at 100yds. I wasn't super excited with the results but I think I have a major flaw in my front rest. I was shooting off of my 3" wide top which is meant for a 3" wide flat BR stock...
Copied this over from my post on another website. Figured I'd toss it up here. Here are some preliminary photos. Sorry they aren't great. The more I handle this rifle the more impressed I am with it. It feels very solidly built. I swapped out the butt/cheek piece and it literally takes 10 to 15...
