Gunsmithing Reccomend a reputable smith with quick turn around for cut n thread job.
Similar experience here with LRI. Had them cut, crown, and flute. Was quoted 2 weeks. I can't remember if it was in their shop for 24 or 48 hours, but I was amazed at the turnaround, especially when I saw the quality of the machining. Definitely a gem in this industry. Fluted barrel weight savings worth the money?
I had a varmint contour barrel spiral fluted by LRI that turned out amazing. I asked for maximum weight reduction and they extended the flutes quite a bit forward and rearward. One of the few shops that will add aggressive flutes to a finished barrel and have not experienced any adverse effects...- TurboSportTSi
