Rifle Scopes Beginner here with a disappointing first day

Qazwsx, I'm actually in group - but a SIG-O....and any "cool" stuff I've gotten to do, was predicated by relentless nagging, begging and justification. I'm willing to try again however! Now, if I wanted sharepoint or networking training...I automatically get ATTRS reservations....ugh.

PRS Tactical Division questions and is 556 a poor long term investment?

I still think its a bit insane that the tactical division expects 556 folks to hit that far out. Then again, I don't know anything.

PRS Tactical Division questions and is 556 a poor long term investment?

As mentioned in my other post, I'm moving from years of SUT to long range to possibly compete in the tactical division of the PRS. Apologies for the dumb questions. Rulebook states "2.2.3 Tactical Division shooters will shoot the exact same COF as Open Division shooters." I'm not familiar...

Rifle Scopes Beginner here with a disappointing first day

You are very right davsco! I was naive to think I could treat this like any other weapon system I've been trained on - and just throw the gear on and go. This is not an aimpoint and requires much more thought, and research. I'm learning. This thread here goes to show how rookie of a mistake...

Rifle Scopes Beginner here with a disappointing first day

Since the rpr is 20MOA, should I get a 3mil/10moa? Or just a zero? That’s IF I really need to hit 1200+....(mount, obviously) Thoughts?

Rifle Scopes Beginner here with a disappointing first day

I’m at fort Campbell. I was thinking about getting started in the tactical division. I doubt targets are over 1200 but I may be wrong.

Sounds like it’s an easy fix. Just need to learn how to adjust it now. Back to the books. Thank you.

Rifle Scopes Beginner here with a disappointing first day

I have removed the optic, but in just turning the knob based on the numbers on the dial I get 18 mils exactly from all the way down to all the way up.

Bottoming out the knob. It’s factory setting and I haven’t messed with any zero stop or even removed the cap. I just pop up the knob and turn it. And in this case I pop it up and turn it until it stops.

Rifle Scopes Beginner here with a disappointing first day

Well seasoned with ballistics and SUT/military training but getting into long range. Since 99.9% of my gear is all 5.56 I opted for Ruger Precision Rifle 5.56 to at least get going. I purchased a razor vortex 4.5-27x56 and a nightforce 20moa Mount. I couldn’t get on paper at 25y, even with my...
