Re: Best way to clean a scope lens? isopropylic should not be a problem as it is used to clean microscopic bits of dust/grease off optical fibre interfaces without leaving hardly any residue on a 'lens' much smaller than a human hair, but you would still have to remove sand or dust first.

Re: What rings to use on a 34mm tube? i recommend NEAR alphamount, i am not sure if they are aluminium but i definitely think they are worth having a look at. He was most helpful when i bought for my s&b 5-25x56 and i could not be happier with the mount.
