I have the 2x7 or the fixed 4x on all my rimfires and for my shooting needs they are great little optics. I mostly just take head shots and tree rats and don't use them for any practice.
I just got a Leupold RX1000i dna and so far it blows away any of the cheaper ones I have used in the past. I realize that there are extremely nice and extremely accurate systems available but most of those are way beyond my personal budget. This is the most I ever spent on a rangefinder and it...
I agree wholeheartedly.... I just wish they would make a Mark4 4.5-15x50 that was both illuminated and first focal plane. I could only imagine how many they would sell?
I would have to pull an inventory count to see how many different Leupolds I currently own but I can tell you it is quite a few. I got my first one when I bought a used Rem model 7 .243 and it was already mounted on it..that one is an older VariXII in 2x7 and I liked it so much that Leupold is...
Ledzep stated it perfectly... the only time I notice anything blurry is at night when I have the power too high...back off the brightness level and all is good to go.
I can't even get close to 43gr of Varget without crazy pressure signs and have found that the AR10 is very hard on brass when compared to other rifles.
What sling do you use and what are the likes or disslikes about some that you have tried in the past? I need some solid input before I buy something I won't be happy with....(I intend on using the sling for shooting stability purposes and not just carrying my rifle around.) Thanks in advance...
Whats the deal with these blems??? What is actually wrong with them is it simply cosmetic or or is it an issue with inconsistent weights or jacket thickness? I guess I am just leery about this as I have never heard of anything like this before...
I should have added that the AR10 platform seems to be kind of hard on brass and I don't get many reloads out of any that I have tried up to this point and lake city seems to work out better then commercial brass. (at least for me anyway)
That was my issue as well and it SUCKS trying to get the bolt back in the field....or at the bench. I have found that somewhere around the 43gr area of Varget works great for 168Amax and I see pressure signs when loading any more then 42gr with the 175gr Sierra or 178gr Amax but I am mostly...
I found that my Armalite AR10 chamber was very tight and needed a small base die and had to full length size every time to avoid failure to feed issues....never crimped any for this rifle and never had any troubles in that department.
