Re: Z5's ? I don’t have both and I don’t have another in the same price class. The closest thing I have in this price and mag range is a VX-7L 4.5-18X56. I like my Swaro better. Between the two Swaro’s, the 44 has a little better field of view, the 52 has more mag. Your application and...
Re: Z5's ? I agree with the above. Althought I went with the 5-25x52 and love it. I do not feel I gave up anything going with it, but you really don't lose anything going with the 3.5-18x44. Distance / Mag At 25y perceived distance at 3.5 = 7y and at 5 = 5y At 500y perceived distance at...
Re: Lever action restoration M.L. McPherson is not in TX, he's in CO, but he did great work on my dad's Marlin 336 that I'm handing down to my son and then daughter. Call or email him with what you are thinking about, he was great to deal with. http://www.levergun.com/main_index.htm...

Re: Action or Barrel? A penny is .75”. Your bullet is .308". Multiple shots inside the penny is under .5" ctc. IMO that’s good as is. The first two items on Matthew Lundy’s list above aren’t comparatively expensive (and I’d move his trigger #5 up to #2 or 3 considering cost). If you want...
Re: SWFA TRADE IN PROGRAM I had a great experience and would do it again. They replied next day and when they received my trade, they shipped next day. They’re online here so you could PM them to let them know you’ve submitted if you like.
Re: mil vs moa which is more accurate Agreed and not intended as a correction, I would have used the 100 to keep it simple and get the 900y and then deducted 45y for the known 5% error and would have been very close. If the shot “mattered” I would have had an LRF and been even closer.

Re: Newbie may have had an epiphany - confirm or laugh BTW, thanks Greg for the cue ball example. Simple and so noted – Wind at the shooter is most important.
Re: Newbie may have had an epiphany - confirm or laugh OP here. Thanks for all of the info and replies! I've been sitting back trying to digest it. There are many variables, but it does sound like maximizing velocity and BC is the consensus. Albeit since these are often juxtaposed I’ll...
Years ago, when I was in to archery, the big debate was carbon versus aluminum. We won’t get in to that, so let’s just say I was carbon. I was hunting and liked it fast and flat. So I came across a spreadsheet I had done comparing a 270 to a 300 WM, I still like it fast and flat so the data...
