Re: Age For First Gun? I didn't get my first firearm until after I was in the military and married actually. Now, my oldest son, he was 7 when he got his BB gun, and 9 when he got his .17HMR. He absolutely loves that gun and is competent to run it himself. I stand back and off to the side...
