Shooting poor groups, Tubb Final Finish and more

You have a bit of an uphill battle for you mentally, if you are like me. I went through a similar ordeal, but I was lucky that I was at fault, not the rifle. Once you get fixated and are questioning the gun's precision, all you start to think about is group size, group size, group size. My...

    Accuracy, me or the rifle?

Alright, so I've been researching everything I can about proper shooting, etc, etc and I'd say it's paying off. This was the best group last weekend shooting from the bench with a bipod. 5 Shots of FGGM 69gr SMK. About 15 rounds through a freshly cleaned barrel (first cleaning for the gun)...

Rifle Scopes Which rings do you run?

I run TPS steel x-lows. They are essentially badger knock-offs for a decent bit less.

Member Link Up any oklahoma shooters?

Tulsa area here. Would love to find a place around 500 meters or more to ding some steel. Red castle membership is closed with no waiting list spots and no range I know of will allow anything but paper... Shooting .223 so wouldn't probably be going much past 500M. I hit up happy hollow...

Knights Armament Bullet Flight App Question

If I had to guess I'd say it seems like the settings for the software are set to display drop on MRAD, but it still has the scope adjustment set as MOA. In fact, that's exactly it. 8.8 MRAD equals 30.25 MOA, at 1/4MOA per click, that's 121 clicks. There should be a setting somewhere to fix that.

Proper Prone/Bipod Technique - Weight support

Elbows hurting isn't a big deal. I'm watching tons of videos and stuff, and the angle at which people are placing their elbows, it's impossible that they wouldn't be supporting some of their weight by using their shoulder muscles. This is mostly what I was concerned with, but it seems like it's...

Proper Prone/Bipod Technique - Weight support

I have actually come across that article and it's choc full of info, but it didn't quite give me the answer I was looking for. I've also watched a very informative video with a USMC instructor talking about NPA. At times I begin to wonder if it's actually so natural for most people no one...

Proper Prone/Bipod Technique - Weight support

So the title largely gives away my question. I've been working on my shooting technique, especially from prone with a bipod. Lots of adjusting cheek weld height with rags, etc to get a good NPA. However, my question is with weight support. Most instruction is adamant about muscular...

    Accuracy, me or the rifle?

So I took the rifle out this weekend and have been playing with it. With Federal GMM 69gr SMK I was able able to get 1 5-shout group right at about .75 MOA and another right at 1 MOA. The smaller group took every ounce of my concentration. Haha. I'm still getting the feel of this rifle. I went...

    remington's new 700 long range!!

To those wondering, remington sku 85540 is essentially this rifle in .308 with a 24" 5r barrel on it. I have sku 85539, which is .223. You won't find them on the website, but they are legitimate. There is limited information about them, and I've seen many websites get it wrong themselves. They...

    Accuracy, me or the rifle?

Haha, I'm trying not to think like that until I try out more stuff. I have been very pleased with everything else so far about the rifle (hah). I figure if it doesn't behave things will start changing. Kind of the sunk cost argument. For the price of jumping ship now, I could do a lot with it...

    Accuracy, me or the rifle?

First off, whoa. Didn't mean to start a tiff. Second, it took like two days for this thread to get modded, and in the process I tried starting a different one, so my apologies in advance if a duplicate surfaces.. To answer the general "what are you trying to accomplish?" sentiment. Well, I...

    New from Tulsa, OK

Just moved back to OK. Getting back into shooting long range a bit. Side note, I've tried posting twice so far. One was hours ago. The other about an hour ago. Neither has shown up. Does it just take awhile or am I required to do something else first?

    Remington 700 5R issue

So I thought I posted something two hours ago. Never showed up.. Anyway. I took my new rifle out for a spin this weekend. I am not that experience with target/long range shooting but have done a little bit. I was a little underwhelmed with the rifles performance. This is what I've got...

    Accuracy, me or the rifle?

Because I am crazy, I'm over here stressing about the accuracy of my latest rifle. I'm by no means an experienced target shooter or long range shooter, but I have done some of both. Remington .223 cerakote w/5r barrel (w/ BC Medalist M40 stock) Warne 1 piece steel base bedded TPS SL rings...
