Tac Ops Rifles

Might as well ask this again since its been a bit, has anyone shot the 215 Bergers or 230 OTM Tacticals in their 300 win mag guns?

I would be very surprised if either one of those rounds would chamber. The chamber is cut for 190 FGMM and I have a hard time finding alternate ammo that will work.

gotcha. Was just curious because ive heard of some Xray 66 owners running 210 VLD/220 SMK class bullets through theirs

anyone mount an Ultra Short (3-20 or the 5-20) on a Tango using the split mounts? meaning not a continuous rail mount that spans the loading port?

@JakeM well taking the plunge, buying a TT525P Coyote thanks to Jake at Mountic Outdoors @MNTC

Can’t wait to see how it looks on the TacOps w/ birdsong

Glad I can help out. The photos of the coyote Tan Tangents look more brown then they are in person. The few I have had so far are much more green. Hard to get accurate photos that represent the actual color but I would say it will go very well with these Tac Ops rifles.

Someday I hope to own one of these fine rifles!

Not a Tango, but my Delta with the split pic rail base and the S&B 3-20x50. Let me know if you need close up images

thank you, interesting stuff. its something i need to consider. I may move my March High Master over to my Tango instead of springing for a new piece of glass.

My vote is my shop ready to lease here in Texas. Come on over Mike.
Hopefully your shop floor has 2 plus feet of reinforced concrete.., Mike likes zero vibration on his machines 😉

I’m close… wasn‘t smart enough to send Mike my scope, so my March FX and ARC rings will just hang out here for a little bit longer. Hoping to actually get a few rounds out before I PCS OCONUS and leave my new Delta-51 to age gracefully for a bit.

I'm on the fence about sending my scope.

While I own many sniper rifles, I have never had anything that can only be described as perfect. Just picked up my rifle from Mike yesterday and got out to the range today. I need lots of practice to try and match the test target (not sure I will ever do a single hole!), but it already out-performed the rifles I have been shooting for decades. The service, consultation and experience was every bit as perfect as the rifle. Nothing else to say - there isn't anything better I have ever seen.

Nice setup there.

Ive spent some time at that same bench there. Are you hittng the plates at 500?
I was - easily hitting the larger square plate with occasional hits on the small round plate. They need to add more steel at 300 and 500 because it's slim picking right now

Great rifle & scope combo. Was that at ASR (Angeles Shooting Ranges)?

Unrelated note (but kinda related), anyone notice the sniper central website is gone? Was trying to send some of the TacOps articles to a buddy of mine and the website doesnt exist anymore.

Anyone know what happened?

I was told Mel sold it for 40K but don't remember exactly what was going on. He stated he might start a new one but who knows...
He was ( is ) always a complete gentleman and a class act...

Here's Mels Face Book link https://www.facebook.com/snipercentral

This link here is the old Sniper Central with a new name https://www.sniperforums.com/

It is sort of crazy to think I’ve been visiting some of my haunts on the web for better than 20 years. The first articles that ever drew me to Mel’s place were an extension of the fascination I had after reading the section on snipers in Marine as a kid (or adolescent, perhaps).

Rifle building skills aside "Where is Mike getting his FGMM and is it at "Free America" pricing?

I had posted a link earlier, seems like it all ran out at Sportsmans.

Keep an eye on a place called AbleAmmo, I picked up some 190s and and 1 box of 215s from there. 3 dollars a round at the time was much lower than what others were charging.
