I run #1. That knob would not clear on close in my 700sa standard Manners LRH molded bolt notches. Rather than clearance the LRH bolt notch as I don't think it would look right on that specific model, I moved those to EH1s that I clearanced. Been debating to see if there is a thinner knob to try (would need to be about 1/2 way through where it flares out before it reaches the first section of knurling on #1. #4 'looks' like it might be thinner there.

@pineoak since your question was pasted inside of my quote it wont let me quote you back but "Do you notice the difference in leverage/lift between the longer versus shorter?"

Yes, the longer is more leverage and lighter lift but I keep my pressures low enough and size my brass so that I dont lock my bolt up so neither are bad. I feel the constant sprung bolt head pressure against the action more than the brass extracting mostly.

Personally I like where the shorter puts the knob and its angled surfaces because my hands arent huge and it gives me a nice interface for when I open the bolt with my planted thumb and bladed fingers even if the lift is a smidge heavier. The long is perfectly fine as well but I do have to move my bladed fingers a bit further out from the rifle to hit the same angled area. So its purely where it hits me on the knuckle and how my thumb rotates that drives my preference for the shorter.
This is mainly all about when Im sitting on the bench by myself filling time, at a match it never crosses my mind.

A crude illustration of the difference Im talking about if you were to have the small and the large overlaid on one another

#1 competition for me

but i'll probably pick up a spiral or diamond (6 or 7) for hunting this year

#1 on the origin and RimX, they feel just right to me

I have a #1 and # 3. Both work great, but I do find both are a little rough when you run the bolt fast

I have #2. I can't say I don't like it but I would go 6 or 7 if I did it again. Not sure I would spend the money to switch since ther is nothing wrong with what I have

I got a Badger Ordnance with a 419 adaptor and like it a lot. #2 interfered with my KRG Chassis. I would have clearanced it, but I didn't really like how bulky it was anyway.

I actually just use the classic teardrop (#4) on my match gun. I never get that crazy with bolt knobs. The standard teardrop has always been comfortable enough for me.

Played with a #1 this morning. It's a LOT smaller in person than it looks in the picture. I didn't find the texture to be overly aggressive, though it was definitely grippy overall.

I will play with a #4 sometimes on a build specific to small handed shooter in the family. Feels smooth and easy. I prefer the feel of the 4 with my XL glove sized hands to the #1.

Last time I let you touch my knob! LOL

#2 is perfection. Ordered it on all three of my actions.

I have/like the #2.

If I was going to try a diffferent one it'd be the Area419.

I have the competition on my Rimx. With the swept bolt, it is too long and hits my trigger finger. I need to change it for a shorter one.
