The new stuff is Petersen brass, which although good I've found to be of inconsistent case capacity (leading to big ES/SD) from lot to lot. Very consistent within same lot but I've found the same load in brass from 2 different loads will have an avg MV 20+ fps apart.

The old stuff (which only came in 6.5 creed, I necked a ton of it down to 6mm) was made by Ruag and was great, super consistent brass.

I know I feel like I was stealing buying boxes of 250 for $99 when ruag and prime had their falling out.

I also know I buy enough brass to burn out a barrel when I order a barrel, and I'd never hesitate to use Peterson, alpha, or Lapua. So long as it's annealed on a regular basis and isn't pushed so hard the primer pocket gives out, they seem to all be good for 15+ loadings.

I never buy primed brass for a few reasons:

You just don't know what primer was used, how old it is, how it has been stored, and how has it been seated. I have run across one unprimed case that was missing a flash hole, pretty obvious with an unprimed case. I also have seen several cases with undersized flash holes that would pull the decapping pin out of the stem

I'm not quite sure you understand the topic at hand at all!
