Sweet reticle, now if they get them to tract they’ll have something.
These scopes track great. Several guys in our area have all switched to them. I have yet to see or hear of a single tracking issue. The glass leaves much to be desired and the windage knob is stupid other than that they did a nice job on the scope.

seriously why not add a windage knob?? very frustrating!! at the every least make it an option. otherwise it's a great scope.

Wait it doesn't have a windage knob?! How are you able to adjust zero???

Glass seems pretty dang good to me, better than anything in it's price range and similar to others almost double.

Capped Windage 😢. Agree on glass

More and more shooters prefer capped windage, as they are holding for wind and it removes one variable. You can remove the cap to expose a click-adjustable windage knob...

The design of the windage mark is so you don't have to get off the gun to see it. You can maintain a cheek weld and dial.

It’s definitely not close to scopes double it’s price range. Edge to edge is meh. CA is pretty apparent. And contrast and color correction is not great. For the price range it’s good but it’s definitely not close to stuff that’s over $3k lol

Who told you that, it literally makes no sense at all

Utah special: LP Fuzion in an XLR/MPA topped with a MK5, lol

One of the guys I shoot with had an issue with return to zero on his MK5 and Leupold got it taken care of within a few days. If anyone gets one that doesn't track, just call up Leupold and get it fixed. Everyone makes lemons from time to time. There's a whole lot of cry babies out there. I have a friend who's had 3 for 3 vortex scopes poop the bed on tracking failures, but if you try and dis vortex online, you'll get crucified. I understand the MK4 had issues with tracking, but the MK5 uses a different erector and turret design.

The MK5 is a great design and I'd use one if the sight picture were bigger.

The Utah and West Coast special :ROFLMAO:

I like a capped turret- so the placement of the line doesn't bother me......... But- if you hate it move it. It's just a line- a black marker- a silver or white marker and 30 seconds of your time. Now you have the line where you want it- slip your turret so the 0 is on the new line and you will never have to complain about it again....... but maybe that's not as much fun?

The problem isn’t the line’s placement, it’s that the line isn’t pointing to the knob’s “center”. I had a 5-25 a while back and the way my eyes work made it quite hard to accurately tell what click it was on.

Some other higher-end scope has off-center indicators in the windage but the line points to the knob’s center.

Edit: found the scope. The new S&B 6-36. I’ll bet this arrangement would be much easier on the eyes.

Have you actually adjusted one to your eye? If you think the glass is crap either your eyes don't like the coatings or something is off.

It's not $4k glass, but it's solid at $2k.

I won't buy anything without a capped or locking windage, after the match that my turret caught and zipped a few revolutions on the gun case. Couldn't tell you the last time I dialed wind so I zero and cap it.

I will be picking up another one in the pr2. I can't decide on another 5-25 or a 7-35.

LMK when you are ready, we have experience with both and have a few of each in stock right now ;)

I’m pretty sure I know what I am doing when I get a scope but thanks for your advice. I never said it was crap I said it left a lot to be desired.

Mk5 has tracked well through 3 scopes. In the 2k range it is tough to beat. Pr2 takes a minute to get used to, but is completely functional. Had 2 xtr3 and a minox. All with tracking issues. Glass was comparable to burris. Field of view better im Burris. Glass noticeably better in minox. Tracking wins.

The windage mark on the 7-35 is in exactly the same place its been on earlier released Mk 5's. No change and I don't seem to remember seeing much complaining about it on, for example, the 5-25.

Cheers

I had a 5-25. I complained the windage mark.

In my head. Late at night.

Alone.

I had a CCH reticle and couldn’t stand it. So much…line-age, stabby hash-age, v-shaped landing craft-age bam bam bam my eyes couldn’t take it. Sold it.

LOL.....haha...that really tickled me.

Ah, I have CCH in a Mk5 and I'm not a competitor at 69...rapidly closing in on 70...with some back issues.

So, I tend to think that no...I don't want a busy reticle. I'd like a tree just in case one day maybe (haha) but not with so much stuff that its distracting and busy. What I'm finding is that I just don't notice all that stuff unless I'm trying to use it. With my laser like focus on the aim point (that was def tongue in cheek!), I'm finding it to just not bother me but nothing is more individual and personal than eye sight.

Cheers

Not a CCH fan either but wouldn't mind a 3-18 PR2 with illum if such thing ever happens for a 7saum crossover.

It's Leupold we are talking about so no it wont happen.

They'll do a SFP non illuminated PR2 MOA reticle in the 3-18 and a FFP Mil illuminated #1 German reticle before they do something crazy like have the same reticles across all product lines.

I know ... it’s all so tiresome.
One day the chinks will figure out the recipe for a reliable compact sub 20oz ffp mid range mag and it will destroy what’s left of Leupold.

If I were Leupold, I’d be very scared with what the chinesium product like the Athlon Midas and the Arken EP5. They’re getting really good.

Same thing that happened with the civie thermal market and now it’s all about the Iray MH25 / mini ML25.

I disagree.
If the chinks work that out it'll be called the Mark 3HD FFP.....

Also the market for fudd scopes is still very very very strong, I often wonder who the hell is buying Leupold VX3 scopes these days, then I stumble onto a hunting forum and find out that everyone is still buying these scopes.

Yes, our little piece of the shooting universe is a very small niche. My dad still thinks the variXii with the duplex reticle on his 270win is the bees knees. I’m afraid he’d have a stroke if I told him what I’ve spent on a scope. There are MANY more like him than like ‘us.’

My kids have tikas t3x lite with the vx-3hd 4.5-14 with the B&C bdc.

It's simple, effective, and works great for a 500 yard deer rifle. It's also only 14oz so Dad doesn't end up carrying 2 rifles.

They get to play with ffp mill tree scopes on the .22's and at matches. Not in the woods until they're capable of carrying a 40oz scope.

I have owned 3 mk5s, 2 5-25s and one 3-18 I really liked them they were my first “expensive” scopes I have owned many other different “expensive” scopes since but I have always held the MK5 in high regard. Have never owned a 7-35 and am considering getting one, looking for more magnification but don’t want to pay NF or ZCO money and although I was impressed by the razor g3 optical quality I hated the turrets. As far as the windage turret complaints they really don’t apply to me as I zero and forget about it.

P.S hey Burris guy, no I do not want a XTR whatever. Thanks!

I’ve tried all the $2kish scopes a couple times over. NX8’s, AMG’s, Cronus, XRS etc and the 7-35x mk5 is my favorite.

Glass on the AMG is better but I prefer all the other features of the mk5.

I’m too poor to comment on anything higher end than these.
