Turns out, producing ethanol is more polluting than refining petroleum.

Why stop at fails? Let’s just point out how wrong the entire premise is to begin with. I’m pretty sure I’ve posted this before but it bears repeating. This is a search result of all the climate change material from the site of the best independent journalist in the game. All footnoted/hyperlinked to verify for yourself

Ask Germany and the rest of the EU how that green BS is going?

Or ask all the people profiting from the green scam, if you can catch them between flying private jets from their waterfront (sea rise??) homes

    It’s a scam

Solar is cool, and some green stuff is cool, but only for certain tasks and in a free market free from gov fuckery

For a off shore sailboat or a off grid cabin solar is cool, if I was rich I’d have a fast Tesla for short around town stuff, why not, and I do like good insulation and windows in a house, but what’s being pushed on us is as much a scam as the covid shit was

I’m not opposed to any form of energy creation. But it absolutely cannot be from a gov boondoggle(I love this word) program.

Many think the heat wave in CA is a result of climate change. I believe it's simply a part of their transition to becoming HELL as they've been headed that way for some time.
Well, the Lewis & Clark expedition wrote in their journals that California was hot and on fire everywhere they went and they didn’t think anyone in their right mind would want to live there. So there’s that

It’s like McDonald’s food is bad, this much be a sign of a food shortage

No, their food always tasted like crap

I would disagree with this. Just like most of the headlines it leaves out the facts. Corn captures carbon and stores it in the soil. The bushel of corn that is processed at the plant is also made into corn oil and dried distilled grains which are fed to cattle 🐄 instead of corn. Corn oil and ddg are a by product of the ethanol production. So from a carbon standpoint ethanol has a minimum effect. Let’s not also forget ethanol is a renewable resource not a fossil fuel and also the tailpipe emissions are much cleaner. The article goes on to say most of the carbon is coming from the tilled fields. Well most farmers are doing a lot of no till farming. Also those fields that are being tilled would have to be planted to corn anyways to feed the livestock that the dried distiller grains are being used for instead of corn for feed.

I disagree with "minimal effect." Also, how do you really know that petroleum is not renewable? You don't. Most farmers are NOT doing a lot of no till farming, just a few. Ethanol is still bullshittery compared to petroleum products. The net energy of ethanol, wind, or solar, simply does not exist to compare with petroleum.

As I headed into Cali the other day, I watched in the great distance a plume of smoke, in a strange area. As I got closer(50 miles) I could see windmills littering the hillside and one was on fire.

Gasoline is not renewable as far as I know. About 30 percent of the corn planted in the us is no till. Even minimum till helps prevent carbon loss from the soil. Now I do agree that Ethanol is a small amount of the fuel consumed in the USA. Trump had this crude oil business figured out when he was running the show. When oil was below $60 a barrel we bought from other countries. When it was over $60 we fracked our own. The other countries needed money so crude went down then we bought from them. It was genius really. I am just a farmer with a high school diploma but common sense tells me Ethanol for use in automobiles is good for the environment.

    It's VERY common.
Search for "windmill on fire" and go to images.
Lotsa fun stuff....and it can look pretty cool too :)

When you really get down to it and figure out where energy comes from, everything but nuclear is solar energy. Without the sun we wouldn't have weather that makes wind farms or hydro dams feasible. Fossil fuels just have the benefit of having been stored up over billions of years, sort of a natural battery if you will. Trying to use less energy and resources and pollute less is certainly an admirable goal, but the billions of years of solar energy stored as fossil fuels are what has enabled modern society to evolve to the point where we are now. Abandoning them and reducing the quality of life in the western world won't make a bit of difference to the global climate when countries like China and India with about 2 billion people combined are trying to attain our current quality of life. But what could make a difference in global pollution levels is using the natural gas we have available to us in Canada and the USA to provide a source of cheap energy for them that also happens to be much cleaner burning than wood or coal. And the celebrity climate crusaders can start leading by example, instead of telling us from their seaside mansions, private jets and mega yachts that we need to reduce the energy we use to the level of a third world country.
I don't really know who this Dan Pena guy is, but I thought this video was fairly entertaining.

Also, here's a thought on rising sea levels from global warming. Ur, one of the first cities in history, was in what is now Iraq. It was a coastal city, situated where the Euphrates flowed into the Persian Gulf, and the people who settled there sometime around 3800 BC had some sort of a flood origin story. Basically the sea level was rising, and they were migrating upstream along the Euphrates River, and where they eventually settled is where the seal levels stopped rising. Ur was a major coastal city for roughly 3000 years, which is absolutely incredible. The ruins of this once great coastal city are marked on Google Earth, and using their measuring tool, anyone can see that it's about 235km from the current coast of the Persian Gulf. The only logical conclusion is that they also had a carbon tax, and that it worked to lower the sea levels to where they are today. Either that, or maybe soccer moms in SUVs isn't quite the apocalypse that were being told it is.

The entire middle of the US was a shallow inland sea.

Control the sun, you control the climate.

    Everything else is BS.

Beside that be a good steward of the earth don't be a pig.

They would get better results with that message than instead using doomsday scare tactic, tax you to death, bullshit.

First off, ALL plants "capture carbon" (seriously, you're an eco zealot to use such stupid language). Not a feature. Secondly...
I make ethyl alcohol from corn all the time. That "Ethanol" is now synonymous with ethyl alcohol is more eco-faggot bullshit. What is the gas mixture you put in your car? Now "Ethanol" is completely synonymous with a real organic compound in actual chemistry. Nice way to play with language and fuck actual science with your bullshit religion. But, thanks to turning me on to this travesty of leftist bullshit. I had not even realized how far this has gone with you morons till seeing how fucked up the Wikipedia page actually is. Friedrich Wohler is rolling over in his grave with your fake, religious bullshit.

While I throw out the trub and spent grains there is ZERO corn oil made from refining and distilling corn. It is possible to wetmill the corn first, but no one except the most gigantic ethanol operations could afford it. That is not where most corn oil comes from, and maybe not fit for human consumption. Now, the spent grains could probably be dried and fed to cattle, but when all the starch has been removed and catalyzed into sugar for conversion to alcohol it would be very nutrient/calorie poor, and nothing like normal cattle feed. Much more likely it could be used as a filler in some other animal feed, but again, how many ethanol operations do that? My guess is very few. You have to be an Anheuser Bush level to make any money using spent grains like that, so it isn't done, and is just an eco-acolyte talking point, because it's possible.

The only legitimate argument you make is that turning plants into alcohol is renewable, where as creating more hydrocarbons happens on a time line and scale too long to be even considered. That would be fine if we did not use 20,000 barrels of oil per day. 30% of Americas corn goes into making ethanol (mostly because of subsidies), how much cheaper would our groceries be if the price of animal feed dropped 30%?

I don't blame farmers for making money where they can make it, but ethanol is retarded, and it costs us all a lot of money!

I’m still wondering when NYC is going to stop using window AC units.

    My local Ethanol Plant.

It’s total shit for any combustion engine as well. I put it in my car because I have to. It probably kills cars 10k-50k before they would wear out otherwise. Factor that shit into your Green religion!
Any other motor that takes a gas can gets pure, no-alcohol gasoline from MFA free of that scorching shit.
My motorcycle (2002 Honda Magna carbureted v4 750) and small engines (Honda mower and Stihls) only get ethanol free. Crap isn't good for small engines.

That would be assuming their intentions were honorable

And if anyone knows anything about the relation between eugenics and the environmental movement they would have their answer
Rachel Carson……..killed more third world people than many warlords but there are more hawks.

Geology tells us 1,000 ft tall glaciers covered much of north America as far south as northern Ohio. This means global temps and sea levels were much lower.
Whale fossils litter the Sahara desert, meaning global temps and sea levels were much higher.
This was long before the industrial revolution and SUVs, and probably predates bovine flatulence.

An easy way to get a hilarious reaction from a greentard is this:

Ask if they understand that the “hockey stick graph” from Al gore was complete bullshit(it was a total fabrication). If they understand that, ask them how the world could have gone through the industrial revolution without any significant effect on CO2 levels & temps?

I asked someone at work this and all I got was some unintelligible gibberish about pollution and not loving the planet

We're the global Temps lower and sea levels higher or was the earth tilted a little more one way or the other ?

Been watching some stuff on the earth's magnetic pole shift and if what they are saying is true this place is forecast to shift 90° sometime in the next 20-30 years.

Yeah I know sounds crazy. Ever seen the navy's new map of the United States?

still find it funny people will complain in summer when it's hot or winter when it's cold either it's global warming or El Niño or La Niña people cry when coffee is hot and when it's cold . I guess some people just like to cry about everything .

Ask them which high priest of global warming doesn't have a multi-million dollar beachfront estate (Gore, Obama, Decrapio all do)
Ask them why climate change summits are held in some exotic location where attendees fly their private jets or sail their mega-yachts to attend, when a zoom meeting would produce less pollution.
Ask them why Al Gore's "bio-solar" yacht is green when no marina on Center Hill lake (TN) sells biodiesel.

    Can't be a lefty w/o being a hypocrite.

I’m not sure I can sit through any sort of “explanation” about these things. I’ve stopped caring about anyones mainstream opinion of the global climate cooling change warming

Who is "they" that say the poles are going to shift 90*? ... I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's not likely.

    As for the Navy map...

Better yet, ask them how much of the atmosphere is made up of this deadly carbon dioxide stuff. Most don’t understand this bullshit theory is that .00041 of the atmosphere is controlling global climate when. At the same time these religious fanatics, masquerading as real scientists, just completely ignore the 2-4% of the atmosphere made of of water vapor, which is actually what causes the “greenhouse” effect that allows life on earth. The amount of flat-earth bullshit about anthropogenic climate change is astounding. It is a massive grifting industry. I don’t know what will end it, but clearly the truth, science, facts and 40 years of failed hypothesis and failed predictions are not enough.

Or one could look at the difference in heat capacity and realize it doesn't make sense. I haven't read much on the wobble affect (not my area) but that has been a proposed hypothesis. I need to read more about it though.

Now there you all go, fucking with my climate change. They promised me that the oceans would rise 200 feet giving me ocean front property. I was already planning on my home becoming a multi-million dollar beach front mansion and giving tours to the most exclusive of clients and making a fortune doing it.

And you people are messing it up! So Quit!
