We haven't named him yet, but we hope he gets feeling better. He's been pretty lethargic, and probably not gonna make it but were hopeful. He's been inside most of the evening resting on her finger aside from having a little honey.
It was a he, she looked up a bunch of stuff while he was chilling on her finger. Girl bumblebees have pollensacks and different butts.
He was in for about an hour, had a couple hits of honey watter and watched some YouTube videos with us. He perked up so we took him back outside. He was gone in about a half hour.
Never named him, looks like we only fostered him a spell.
Think that's what she said too. Apparently if the wings are ragged on the edges it's old and probably dying, his weren't so according to the article she read he worked himself to dehydration.
Most wasps aren't a problem. Like mud dobbers, or blue paper wasps, they don't tend to mess with you. They also hunt and kill spiders.
Hornets (which round here live in the ground) are a different story. They are super aggressive and I have been lit the fuck up on several occasions. Last time was doing some trimming around an out building and didn't see their nest under a pile of old wood. Got stung about 10 times before I even knew what was up. Luckily I have been stung so many times over my life time, no adverse or allergic reaction other than a few hours of - damn this hurts...those fuckers gets the gas and match treatment.
