I could use all your thoughts on a 223-barrel selection. I had ordered a Kreger Barrel and now I am told it is not in stock, but the order could be filled with a MullerWorks Barrel. What are the pros and cons of the two barrels? The end prices between the two are very close and the contours are the same. I am more concerned about performance. Thanks very much

I would hold out for what I want . Any time I compromise I end up regretting it .

Many times John (Jack) Krieger was shooting at the same matches I was shooting at as was Barret (Boots) Obermeyer. In addition Norm Brux and Mike Rock could be seen on the firing line too. Also saw Broughton but don't remember a specific conversation I had with him. Steve Satern showed up at some of the matches closer to his native state of Iowa.

They are all consummate professionals in their craft of barrel making and I would not hesitate to purchase a barrel from any of them though my rifles are either Obermeyer or Krieger barreled.

Some time ago Broughton was sold or was bought out by MuellerWorks and the fellow running it is a true artist. My smith has put his barrels on actions and says the MuellerWorks barrels are top notch.

Thank you for the good information. I will go that route.
