ARC Nucleus

Sorry Tomcat My ARC is still in the safe so haven't checked CRF. Finishing up loading 250 rounds of pre primed brass. Wish I new what they were so I could match it. Hate mixing primers in a loaded batch.

Internet is great. Anyone know what primer this is?

That looks like one of those new fancy military primers made in a super high speed shop with amazing quality control.

Primers fine, case is backwards though😏

Perhaps, but using the same exact technique I'm able to unlock that achievement with my m1903, m1903a3, and my origin.

This does seem to be a trend though, all of my issues are user error. Like how I didn't seat my primers enough. I reload for about 15 different cartridges and I've never had light strike issues with any of those, but yea my reloading process is wrong. Gotta love the internet sometimes.
Any lube on the striker?

What's being described sounds more like excessive firing pin drag. Some action/trigger combinations are worse than others.

yeah what trigger? werent some arc actions finicky on that?
I'm using a triggertech diamond. I'm shooting my first match this weekend with my new origin, using the same barrel, trigger, reloading process etc. I'll see how it goes.

I kept the pin protrusion the same as what came from ARC which was about 0.035".

When you are clambering a round, can you extract it without sending the bolt full forward or closing the bolt? I can't. The round pops up out of the mag and is not grabbed by the bolt face. Im using ARC mags as well. The origin that I just picked up, that does CRF.
Finally got around to checking this. Firing pin protrusion is .035 #19 spring. Never had a FTF. As for control round feed, when it pops up from the mag (ARC mag), it is against the bolt face but not yet clipped into the extractor. I have to run it forward enough for the feed ramp/chamber to straighten the round. It is then clipped in & can be extracted.

Picture below shows bolt position when the round becomes fully controlled.

So no light strikes yesterday with the origin in 115 rounds. I actually went back and found my 7 SAUM ammo and my nucleus had 4 light strikes in 160 rounds with a 19 lb spring. 50 were 7 SAUM, 110 was 6.5x47.

I say it's the 19lb stiker spring. If there was absolutely nothing wrong with the 16 and 19lb spring, I can't understand why ARC changed it twice. Now they ship the nucleus with a 25 lb spring. They do that for a reason.

ahh, maybe i should get that other action they make instead of swapping the spring. not sure on the floppy handle though.
The Archimedes doesn’t feel floppy when you run it. In fact, the looseness (it’s definitely roomy in there) gives me tons of feedback; not only can I tell when I ran the bolt on an empty mag, I can feel when it’s the last round. Love that thing.

The 25# felt pretty bad, I couldn't tell much difference between the 16 and 19 in my nuc gen2, so run the 19# for ignition consistency. My archimedes def has lighter bolt lift than the nuc with 16# spring.

good to know, really like the tight and simple nuke... may have to try one out... if only there were more out in the wild here.

The nucleus is great and I assumed I would never move on from it. I just got an Archimedes and so far it feels a bit better in the sense of quick/smooth operation.

I have a very early 1.0 that was recently updated to a 1.1, after I'd already switched to an Archimedes for my primary rifle.
The only time I had light strikes was in sub zero temps with a lube saturated striker, and the 19lb spring.
