Hey guys, I have 8lbs of H4831SC that I am looking to find a use for. I haven't seen a lot of data on this. But is it possible to load H4831SC in a 6mm BR Norma casing with the intention of increased velocity? I would assume that with the " medium to large cartridge " range that this falls in it wouldn't be a problem.

I wouldn't use it in any of the 6mm BR variants. Powders similar to Varget are by far the most popular go to. You can fit H4350 or RL-16, but you need a drop tube to get enough in there. Plus it's hit or miss if you'll be able to reach the equivalent top nodes that Varget can. H4831 is an order of magnitude slower than H4350...so it's a no go imo.

Now, if you're talking about a 6 BR variant necked down to 22 cal, you might be able to use it.

Appreciate the intel ... I guess my initial thought process was that if you can use H4831SC for .243 you should be able to use for 6BR. Guess I was way off lol

Way different internal capacity between 243 and 6BR. H4831SC worked well for me with a 22-250 shooting heavies, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6mm Creedmoor, 280, 300wm.
