Which caliber is better

Using a .375 Cheytac at 4000 metres is getting close to perfect but 410 gr. Turned brass bullets is getting really costly. Gun was over 10 grand to build without the glass and the mounts for the glass are another really costly experiment.

How was the winners circle at KO2M this weekend? 😂
Perhaps if alex wants his idea to become true he should let my self pete and charlie go to the go to the ko2m next year. Seems that lots of names on the list this year were new and not within the 150 and above ranking . Seems that lots of the great shooters in the industry chose not to sign up. Perhaps that has somthing to do with the way its run. a side note the stroker was not there as that is a cheytac necked up. The hellfire is cheytac cylinder brass it has more capacity for the most part matches the performance of the barrett when the barrett run at velocities that bolt lift goes away. Note non of my comments are to dis credit the winners circle. Great job Justin and Stanley

Stroker is more of a Snipetac necked up. The hellfire pretty much matches the Barrett with 25gr less powder too

Justin Wolf 416 Hellfire
Stan Cutsforth 416 Hellfire
Rei Hoang 375 CT

I wouldn't call the hellfire a slower 416. It sure as shit isn't "the 308 of 416s". The 416 Stroker mostly ate shit.

We let people that qualify bring whoever they want as a spotter so we end up with a handful of people with low or no ranking. Same as last year in that regard. Most people that shoot with the same spotter come up in ranks together but there are some interesting exceptions. where you have a good shooter who cant spot with a good spotter that isn't as good of a trigger monkey.

I think there were 18 of the top 50 shooters that didn't come. That list include some international shooters and retired shooters so it is fairly deceptive. I think the only guys that "boycotted" were sterling and I heard from two of them that they wanted to be here. Only guys we really missed were AB and they couldn't make it after we got bumped from our original date.

This is hilarious. Did you even apply because when I asked earlier this year you made all kinds of excuses 😂

I was told i could not get in due to my ranking was to low. Why would i apply as per their comment.

By Alex or some random person? I told you to apply and you would have a chance but you only made excuses. Now you complain lol

Alex made it perfectly clear in writing that unless you had a 150 or lower ranking you will not be accepted

That is a complete lie and BS excuse. See above

Alex, did you not make it perfectly clear here on snipers hide that no walk-ins will be accepted and that you must have a ranking at least 150

Sounds like that’s not how it went down with AB…

Smells like PRS drama in here.
Naw - in PRS they just argue over which esoteric caliber shoots most efficiently, jersey shooters bend the rules in their favor and get their panties in a wad if things dont go their way, and they have egotistical match sponsors that try to control things and make up new rules as they go along.

Lol. Exactly.

So much for a relaxing day of hiking...

Both last year and this year we let any qualifying shooter bring a spotter even if they were unranked. Breaking up spotter/shooter pairs would be terrible and it seemed unfair to have people get dragged all the way to the match and not be able to shoot. The only unranked pair we had was the British guys. We cut the International guys a lot of slack on rank simply because it is the best way to spread the sport and build it internationally. Those guys are also heavily involved in getting the ELR comps started there.

That is a complete lie and BS excuse. See above
Actually that post is about Ko1M where we were more open for a variety of reasons but for Ko2M we do have a hard cut. If you look, it is right there on the ranking at the bottom highlighted in red.

Did you take time out of awards to tell everyone to get the Vax this year?
Latest flavors of covid don't seem to cause as much brain damage as the WT through Delta and at this point I assume you either have gotten the jab or not by now. Brain damage rates were about 30% for unvaccinated and .2% for vaccinated so go ahead and do the math on the number of times you had it and the likelihood of having gotten your egg a bit scrambled. Now even unvaccinated people are only getting appreciable brain damage about 5% of the time. and if you are on the ball with paxlovid regimen it is way lower.

Sounds like that’s not how it went down with AB…
This is news to me obviously. I was told that when we lost our original date that a military contract that was set in stone for this past weekend prevented them from being here. I sat down with one of the AB team at castle and was told that most of them were disappointed that they wouldn't be able to make it and that Mitch especially wanted another shot at the crown. I kinda thought it was Amanda that I sat down with but I only got about three hours of sleep a night trying to fix everything that was going wrong at that match so I was pretty out of it.

Clearly something got screwed up in our communication. Why wouldn't we want them back? I'm pretty sure at king last year my speech even included a section on how the PDMs and the custom drag curves in general were a game changer for getting good calculated predictions. But hell, we'd like them to come even if they were just shooting. They all qualified.

-Alex

Strange because the competitors did not reflect that requirement.

Right off the ranking list "Entry into Ko2M 2022 requires at least 1 member of a shooting team to have a rank of at least 150. Acceptance will be in order of rank and there are only 100 spots available." Spotters can shoot even if their rank sucks for the reasons explained above.

We are debating changing it for next year though. I prefer to keep it more exclusive but we get a lot of feedback asking us to go to a priority from rank without a hard cut. We are also thinking about going to 150 shooters accepted but with three days of preliminaries. Worst ranked third would shoot the first day and well ranked pairs would shoot the second two days so the guys that have earned rank wouldn't be stuck sitting around for an extra day. We would probably go back to enforcing a caliber lower limit though.

-Alex

This is about the only thing that we agree on but as Alex said since he is currently in charge 150 envelope that's what I was told and that's what I read what I'm surprised about is that there is so many unranking shooters at the ko2m it's strange that highly ranked Shooters would pair themselves with un experanced people seems strange to me

It is a surprise to us too but if you look last year it was more or less the same. A lot of guys pair off with a spotter that doesn’t really shoot. That and when only half a team could make it, I hooked them up with people that wanted to come and most of them were under 150.

-Alex

So if I wanted to get into the ELR game, I best not since it’s exclusive? Might as well make it a private club. Way to grow the sport
We have told people for years that we didn’t want King to be their first match. It is more forgiving now with hit to move in the preliminaries but a lot of new shooters are probably going to be out of it after 13 shots. With matches around the country now, it isn’t hard to hit one and cut your teeth in a more forgiving environment. If we open it up next year I expect to see a lot of people on the first day zero out. Not fun for them but it is their choice.

Let that be thier decision and choice. Some and most will probably be ok with that if they show up.

Whats the point of the ranking system other than bragging rights? Why not use the ranking list to allow shooters to pick their tee time rather than a random number generator? Make the ranking list hold some value.

What im getting at is it doesnt matter if you are ranked #1 or #150, there is no benefit to being "ranked" highly other than bragging rights. Make it like Nascar where #1 qualifier starts #1 or in drag racing where the higher ranked driver gets lane choice. Make the ranking system have value. Ranked #150 and get the last choice on tee time? Shoot better, get ranked higher, get a better slot next time.

Rank 1 or 151st does make a difference in actually getting invited though

Well, not really though. Charlie Crouchman is ranked 156, Derek Vaughn 182, Tyson Dube 224 and they all shot king. Hell youre ranked #100, so whats your complaint again?
