I'm curious how the cadex MX1 muzzle brake compares to other options. It seems like a good design! I've got one on order, and I'd love to hear if it's comparable to the APA little bastard (or similar) for effectiveness. I'm planning to put it on a AI axmc in 6.5cm. The whole rifle weighs 17.5 lbs, so it's not like this is a big recoil rifle anyways. I'm expecting good things from the cadex brake, and I'd love to hear your experience.

Apparently they are really effective. Butt ugly though. I'm not a fan of the retention/timing method, I know some gunsmiths that don't speak highly of muzzle brakes that clamp or "pinch" the muzzle.

Best muzzle brakes I’ve used, and I’ve owned a lot. They are big and loud, but boy do they work.

Any comparisons to mbm brakes? Little bastards? Terminators?

looking for a brake for a lightweight 300 prc

What do you want to know exactly? To me the MX1 does a better job at taming recoil than the others. However it’s heavy and big. Might not be the best thing for a hunting rifle. Especially because it is very loud. Also, I like how it’s flat and has a bolt lock. I can always get it level with the scope every time it gets removed and it won’t come loose like the self timing ones.

Interested in MX1 as well. I would like to see the comparison against area 419 hellfire

I had one on my Samo TRG42 on 338lm and now on my Cadex Kraken in 308win. It’s better than the AI brake for sure. Recoil is minimal and blast is not to “extreme “.

good choice but I think it’s a bit on the big side.

you won’t regret it!

The Cadex MX1 brake works well, but its hard to compare without shooting the same rifle setup with different brakes side by side.
For what it's worth, I ordered my Cadex Tremor without the MX1 brake and picked up a Terminator T6 for it instead of the MX1.

I've used the MX1 and compared it versus the insite heathen on my 6.5CM. The MX1 does work quite well in taming recoil but it seems to direct more sound back at the shooter. I ended up selling my MX1 and went with the heathen since I didn't notice much of a difference in recoil mitigation in the 6.5 except for the noise coming back at me.

The Heathen has that first port which is directed perpendicular to the shooter, directing the majority of the blast away from the shooter.

It's certainly noticeable from the shooters position behind the rifle, and one of the reasons why I prefer the Heathen over brakes such as APA, Area 419, etc, which direct blast back to the shooter.

BTW, Heathen is on sale now. $100

Sorry only just seen post, I use Precision Armament M11 and does a great job on my 338 and yes I have a Cadex setup.

Does anyone know if MX1 mini is better than MX1(standard) in terms of taming recoil which will be used in 6.5 Creedmoor caliber 5/8X24 thread? I couldn't find any information on the internet and it seems the standard model is too big.

I have both, and they seem pretty close to me.
