First, I understand the disdain towards this rifle beyond the recall that took place. I get it.

I still chose this for a hunting rifle and would like some thoughts or suggestions on the matter. Yes my Cross is post recall.

I currently have no tools nor knowledge to determine the severity of the issue, if any.

When you look at the Sig Cross barrel from the top or bottom, it's quite clear that it doesn't look straight or aligned with the rail system.
Questions
- Should I be concerned if this is the case?
- Is this common in rail systems on bolt action rifles?
- What other questions should I be asking?

I've yet to put a round through the rifle and intend to do typical rifle break procedure. What should I consider or ask moving forward.
I appreciate input, suggestions, and guidance.

I have been able to adjust the handguard on more than one cross by loosening the mounting screws, shifting the rail, and tightening them.
So the case is my barrel is fine, and the handguard/rail system is just poorly installed? Not ascetically installed?

More than likely, yes. The barrel being out of alignment is a much lower likelihood than the handguard simply being installed a little crooked.
The threaded junction of the barrel to the extension tightened to the receiver by a threaded nut is fairly self centering as far as alignment goes.

Mine is misaligned too, I spent a half hour trying different torque sequences to get it straight to no success. Was even listed on the repair order when it went back to Sig for the POS buttstock being wobbly AF and came back the same way.

As long as you don’t plan on mounting lasers or a clip on then it’s really a non issue.
