Bushnell XRS3

I just picked up an xrs3 to try out. Only thing that sucks is fov.
Yeah most of the 35/36x are like 3ft @100 yards. It feels like my xtr 3 has good fov at 30x. I’ll have to turn the xrs3 & mk5hd down to 30x to see how it compares to the xtr. I think only the alphas like zco & march will have decent fov at 35/36x. FOV & turrets are the trade off vs alphas

At 20x it only has 18 mil worth of fov. Every nf I have is very close to 20 mil at 20x. I never owned a mk5 but good to know it's fov is worse. Aside from this I really like the optic for the cheap price.

If you think the XRS3's FOV sucks the Leupold MK5's are the worse I've ever seen in the industry!
MK5 5-25 is 4.2'@25X @100ys. (0.80°)
MK5 7-35 is 3'@35X @100yds. (0.57°)
XRS III 6-36 is 3'@36X @100yds. (0.573)
Razor 6-36 is 3.5'@36X @100yds. (0.668°)
Razor 4.5-27 is 4.5'@27X @100yds. (0.84°)
March 4.5-28 is 4.7'@28X @100yds. (0.892°)
NF ATACR 7-35 is 3.4'@35X @100yds. (0.649°)

Even there binoculars have low fov. I’ve compared the mk5hd 35x to others with similar power & it’s not a lot worse until you look through a March or zco. The mk5hd is 3ft & so is the xrs3. I just compared them & they are very close. I put a yardstick out at 100 yards & both were right at 3ft with the xrs3 just slightly better but not much. I’ve had the nf 35x side by side too & the extra .5 at 100 yards is not much. The March & zco were amazing when I finally looked through those at a match. My pmii has a little over 5ft at 100 yards which is big

The xtr3 has pretty good fov. At 100 yards I just measured about 4.3ft on 30x

I sent my XRS3 to Bushnell and It turns out it "would not focus properly". They promptly replaced it with a new one and total turn around time was 9 days. The sample I received has the glass I expected. Thumbs up Bushnell.

Sample variation & qc happens to all scope makers. You should check out koshkins way to set the diopter. It really brings out the best a scope can do optically.

I did use Koshkin's way of setting the diopter. That is how I knew something was wrong and prompted me to have Bushnell take a look at my first XRS3. I really appreciate the expertise and insight to the technical part of the optics world that Koshkin gives us.

Is advertised on OnXs website. take it up with them
Good evening. Do you know if the Onx Elite benefits are still available via Bushnell riflescopes? I went to Onx Elite's website and Bushnell is listed as a vendor but the 25% applies to trail cams it appears. I am looking at purchasing one of these Bushnell XRS3 scopes. Thanks

The site currently claims trail cams but when you click the link that they published it takes you to Bushy's website where all the items have the discount applied. As of today, 1/15/2023, the code still works and reflects the following prices: DMR3 @ 1124 pretax and XRS3 @ 1274 pretax. This may be changed in the future by the company so if you are actually interested in using their discount I suggest you act fast. Vortex ran a 30% code for about 2.5 months and it immediately got nuked to 10% once it actually started to be used at EuroOptic. Also wouldn't be surprised if Vista forced them to make changes to how the code is applied, but it is a public company so I doubt there would be a quick fix that would inhibit you from purchasing at the price they advertise in the next few days if you were to go ahead and sign up.

I want to thank you for your insight. I just ordered one with the newer reticle. Much appreciated.

Has anyone compared the Burris XTR Pro vs. Bushnell XRS3?

Yes I have. The Burris had better glass. I still have 2 Pros and sold my XRS3. I just like the Pro better in the speed dial and tooless zeroing. Also the Pro has illumination which I like to have. The XRS3 is a solid scope though and I liked the EQL reticle.

Thanks.. yeah, that's the thing that caught my eye was the illumination. Tooless zero a solid feature too.
Guess I'm selling my Bushnell.

My XRS3 was an impluse buy based on reviewing a lot of positive video... it's NIB. Only taken out of the plastic bag for a quick look through and realizing I wanted illumination. I'll check out Liberty Optics. Thanks.
