Back when I was an adjuster dash cams were pretty rare and a woman threw herself on the hood of a car and tried to file an injury claim, we all laughed at the footage then laughed even harder a few months later when a judge issued a felony warrant for her dumb ass to come and discuss insurance fraud with the court. 🤣

The back of the hand to the forehead is called a “Positive Parr Sign”.
In the same way that shortening, flexion and internal rotation of a leg implies dislocation, or a target coloration at the site of a tick bite implies Lyme, this sign is a 99% positive sign of the patient being a flake. My buddy, Dr Parr first made that observation, and we applied it in southern Oregon. Never failed.

Just watched the last episode of "edge of the unknown". Three dudes kayaking the Congo river. Croc just snatched one of them out of his kayak. By the time the camera came around, the kayak was upside down and spinning in the water like a clock. They recovered the kayak. Never found the guy.
Can’t find anything about it on the internet.. found it….. it’s bs he was taken by a croc 12 years ago, this show was a dramatization…..

That was Hendri Coetzee that got taken. We ran into each other in Ethiopia as we were both getting off rafting/kayaking expeditions. Hung out for a couple days telling river stories. He was a good dude, solid as hell and a hard charging expedition kayaker to say the least. Talked to one of the guys he was with on the Congo deal. Said once he went down, they never saw him again. Bad deal.

Most of those rivers over there are so muddy you cant see your hand if you put it an inch under. We would watch crocs slide in off the beach, they'd disappear and you'd never see them or the water moving to give away their position. It was spooky. What was spookier, was the hippos.

I do not see this as practical, but it is an interesting concept.

This company makes an ablative foam that claims to reducing FRP at least when you start with a cold suppressor with foam applied.

"The most significant reduction when using dB Foam was found with the first shot fired with dB reduction in some cases that exceeded 10 dB."

Friend has them. They work, otherwise are gay.

I didn't say it happened yesterday. The show is about extreme sports athletes and adventurers and usually involves a brush with death. It ran on Nat Geo, so you'd have to watch it in reruns. Or, it's streaming on Disney+. They didn't give much of a time reference to any of the events in the different episodes. Wasn't really pertinent. I like Jimmy Chin's work. I get nervous on a 10' ladder, but I've watched Free Solo 6-7 times.

Both guys traveling with Hendri were film makers. There was plenty of footage of the three of them (two at a time) on the river. There was footage of them camping the night before Hendri was killed. I'm sure there is plenty of B-roll involved as well. But, the actual footage that aired shortly after he was taken came from a camera on one of the kayaks. Off in the distance is an upside down kayak that is spinning pretty quickly in the water. Two guys standing in water with a kayak between them would have a hard time spinning it by hand as fast as it was spinning in the footage. No croc, no blood, no splashing, but it looked like actual footage to me.
