I've got an mpa chassis I'll paint whatever color you want and sell you for $1500. Hell, ill draw titties all over it too!
Why not just get your chassis bare and have someone local cerakote it for you?

That's certainly not what you'd hope or expect to happen and airing the grievance I suppose is your prerogative, however, it's just part of the world of procurement. I receive what could be considered disappointing news about supply chain, production, manufacturing, etc all of the time. Unless you're a sizeable account it's really not feasible for companies to one at a time and real time consult and advise customers with changes in their business that may impact an order. As scale and product mix grow the personal touch goes away. A one off hand made leather holster maker that does 25 a year and you were one you could expect a more satisfying experience if something were to change. Even then, the chance of disappointment exists.

A big fuckin veiner on the cheek rest I’m sure
I’d paint a rifle like that and never acknowledged it, just take it out at the range and act like it’s completely normal.

Not the cheek rest, but the dick camo would be funny.

It happens, its unfortunate, but it does happen.

@MPA if someone was to order RAW finish, to custom cerakote, or to get a 3rd party to apply gun-candy, is that something you can offer ?

Also, love the one we just got for a customers build, full blue-streak-lightning effect. Looks uniquely awesome.

This really fell apart for OP

If you don't care what we think than why come on a forum and bash a company and not expect some backlash....
MPA came on here and simply told you their stance. They didn't have to, they were simply trying to pacify you....
OP sounds like a 200lb baby that lost his binky....
Man the fuck and move on, there are more chassis out there go buy one of them or make your own and shut the fuck up....

It would be so easy for him to delete the post and go away for a while, changing his online name to something less inflammatory.

But bust a gut, some folks are just a true glutton for jumping into the hole that was left after someone moved the outhouse.

Yes, it was unfortunate that we had to discontinue the GunCandy finishes, but we had some technical issues with this specific coating that we could not correct. We have been using this product for years, but something changed and we could not continue to offer this coating due to the subpar quality it was providing.
We looked to an alternate source (Cerakote FX Series) but still have not verified this to be an acceptable alternative.
Jimmy, your claim that we discontinued this coating due to a desire to increase production volume without consideration to our customers is simply absurd. Removing a popular color option from our product offering was not a decision we took lightly, and we knew some customers would be upset. However, its a much better option than having a customer wait on the chassis, receive it and start to have coating quality issues. That stinks for everyone.
The GunCandy finishes were my absolute favorite. Everyone of my personal comp rifles over the past 3 years has used this product. It pained me to have to make the decision, but it was the right thing to do.
Since then, we have added 7 new cerakote colors to our product offering that take just as much time to apply as the GunCandy product - so if our desire to simply increase production by reducing our coating options, we would not have done this. Including our 8 standard colors, we offer another 15 custom color and finish options. (23 total) That is not really inline with making decisions to increase production and not prioritize the customers. Otherwise, we could have just offered, Black, Tungsten and FDE. That would be boring.
Additionally, With all of our chassis, rifle and pistol orders online, we give every customer the opportunity to either pay a 20% deposit with the order or pay in full. Obviously you chose the latter.
Are we a perfect company. Of course not. But we always try to make the best decisions possible with all of our customers in mind. Sometimes we fall short of our customers expectations and unfortunately, this was one of them. Wish the outcome would have been different.
I have 3 MPA chassis rifles in 300-WM, 300-NM, and 22LR. One has been "perfect" (22LR). One was challenged and required a return trip to solve an action screw problem (300-WM), and one required their help to solve a problem that ended up being a defective scope (300-NM). Throughout the Perfect, Challenged, and Not-Their-Fault scenarios, Phil's crew at MPA has been responsive, helpful, fair, and technically sound. They've been a pleasure to work with, and have always gone above-and-beyond to help me when I needed it. I can't speak to the Original Posters issues (aside from his questionable color preferences - LOL), and I don't doubt the validity of his complaint ... but I can speak to my multi-chassis experiences with Masterpiece Arms, which have all been extremely positive.

I have shot on Phil’s squad at matches, and he and his team were so awesome to shoot with. He was helping people that weren’t even running his gear. I’ve personally seen him be generous to ROs to say thanks. Not everything in the world comes out perfect or exactly like we want. So, figure it out and move along without being a big cry baby.

Again, that was not my experience. They couldn't even provide an update without being asked after the first go around. I have moved on and they'll never get another dime of my business. I'll continue to warn aothers about my experience, which is my right. The number of people who think I should just walk away and not say anything is dumb. Keep trolling it doesnt change my experience or recommendation one bit.

The gun candy effect can easily be duplicated with Cerakote FX clears. I’ve used them. Take the unpainted chasis for a $300 discount and have it custom painted. It will be custom without paying full price for chassis+custom paint.

I would offer, but after seeing you have been a member since 2019 with 13 posts and most those are about your issue with MPA. Not to mention your user name.

I wouldn’t risk my reputation….

When everyone’s an asshole, guess who is actually an asshole?

Fucks sake. MPA is trying to save you some grief down the line, when your choice of paint falls off.
And if you're upset now, I can only imagine the level 11 bitch whinging that you'd post here then.
You sent them money, sounds like they're not trying to steal it, they've offered you many options, which you're too proud or stupidly stubborn to accept - it's just a painted chassis, pick another fucking color from the rainbow and move on.

Yeah, no shit. It was just so absurd to me I had to say something.
You didn’t have to say anything, hence the picture...everyone knows, you didn’t discover something they weren’t aware of or already mention weeks later.

Ok, thread police. I’m so sorry to have chimed in and upset your sensibilities.

I think I know what the problem was in their durability issues. I've been doing a bunch of MPA's in pigmented clear finishes and I haven't had a single one come back for flaking finish. I've inquired with my bigger customers to make sure, but out of the perhaps 75-100 chassis that i've done in pigmented clears, or "gun candy" type finishes, I have yet to hear about one having the coating flaking off. I learned early on how to do the finish and yield the best results. I hate to be that guy, but i'm filing that under trade secrets, and going secret squirrel about it...flame suit on.

Hate to see MPA get shit on, I like their products. I don't deal with them personally, but I generally always hear good things about 'em.

Customer's I did recently. "Coloured heat burn" down the barrel. 22lr 12twist, Bergara.
Customer didn't know I did the barrel until he picked it up. Loved it.

In my own defense, I was left unattended, and he didn't say I couldn't do it. It was "make sure it wont rust".
