    In your head
Anyone shipped one? I am looking to have one shipped from Wisconsin to TN if the deal goes through.
Who did you use and results?

    pickup truck and roll out...

Get the buyer to meet you half way.

Any type of shipping right now is stupid expensive.

I did a quick google map from middle of Wisconsin(stevens point) to Nashville and its ~700 miles...

For me thats a no brainer to toss it in the pickup or borrow a friends motorcycle trailer and head out.

I would GUESS shipping would cost you AT LEAST 1k if not 1500 bucks.

If I went 1400 miles in my truck at 15mpg thats only like 300-350 bucks in gas. Could do that trip in one LONG day plus a nap halfway through. Even better if you can get the buyer to meet you half way if they also have a truck.

Never shipped one but you could get a reply over at the WERA racing forum. I saw this brought up many times when I was a member years ago.

I had my Concours14 shipped from AZ to IN in late July using Montway as the shipping service broker and was happy. Set me back $1250 though, but it was the only logical way to get it here after we moved. They did a solid job. :)

This may be an option. But I am pretty busy going into the heating season and would lose between diesel and delayed work

If I fly there's no way that the wife would stay home and miss the ride back. So probably cost would be the same between flights, meals and a hotel. Then delayed work.
And two days of sub 50 degree riding on the interstate doesn't sound like fun.
How much is a One way flight?

It's an older bike that I want to add to my garage. I have missed my old EVO with a carb. Fuel injection is nice but it ain't the same.

I've used UShip many times with no problems. Create an account, enter the bike details, dates, etc. Once posted the haulers will respond with how much they will charge you. You can specify open or closed trailer....

I’m also looking to ship a motorcycle this winter from Seattle to Phoenix. My wife and I are going to snowbird in our 5th wheel for a couple months and I want my bike there with me.

The only time I ever shipped a bike was when Uncle Sam shipped from Germany to Alaska. Drained the fuel, oil and removed the battery......poor bike spent almost a month on a boat before it got stuck in a storage locker for a year while I was out at a remote site.

When I got back to Anchorage, I topped off the fluids, put in a fresh battery and rode out to hook up with some old girlfriends--went all the way to Boulder CO, then to Marquette MI and then down to Tampa FL, and finally to my new duty assignment at Luke AFB in Phoenix AZ.

    GREAT month!

Check with your HD dealer, I've shipped with them a couple of times might take some time but might work for you

Meet halfway, and throw in the tie downs. Same price, and you'll save on the shipping, even with gas prices being what they are. It's not that far, and if you take your time, you can see some interesting sites along the way.

I would be careful with Uship.

On my motorcycle forum, one of the guys I know with a friend shipped out 2 motorcycles using uship from new york to colorado.

On the way the shipper hit an 18 wheeler and totaled both bikes. The shipper had no insurance, thus he and his friend was out 2 bikes.

He found out Uship is just a contractor and you really don't have any idea who will actually ship the bike.

I can send you the link if you want on what all the circumstances were.

So what ever firm you use I would make sure that you speak directly with the person that will be transporting the bike when you actually select the guy to do it.

I used u ship for a tractor. I had to assist pulling the shipping truck and attached trailer up a hill in my neighborhood. Bent both ramps backing the tractor off. Very professional.

I was quoted 1250$ for a dirt bike from la to e tn. From a dealer two months ago.

I’ve shipped a couple of times through Uship with good results and price. When you put your offering up, the vendor bids on it and you can and should ask all your pertinent questions before you decide to accept their bid…

if you don’t get a bid for a price your looking for, you can set your own price and you’ll get bids that way too… that’s how I did both of my shipments. I shipped a tractor from NJ to upstate NY and the also a car from Colorado to Virginia.

go in and set a date range you’re looking for it to be picked up and projected delivery date and let the bidding begin… I normally do a 7 day bidding period. You don’t have to accept any of the bids, but it’ll give you an idea of what it’ll cost and then when you get closer to the actual date of shipping, you can do the set your price bids
