Chances are none of Russia's conventional forces would win an unrestricted fight against our conventional forces.
The Russians however have had a lot of history having all their cities and country reduced to rubble and having to fight back and build back up.
Chances are they would strongly consider going full on WWIII rather than becoming slaves to the west and bet that since their people are further down the evolution of society ladder than those in the west, they don't have as far to fall before hitting dirt and can rebuild from WWIII quicker than in the west.
The problem is the Russians stepped into a nice big well baited CIA trap that was the result of years of pressure and planning.
Now they realize they are stuck and it was a mistake, but their opponent pretty much says no peace until we totally destroy you and make you our serfs forever.
So the Russians are busy trying to decide what kind of screwed they want to be and that means a lot of potential danger in the world.
The Chinese are also probably looking at this and realize if Russia is destroyed and becomes just another serf of the west, they are next in line for an attempt at being busted back down to serfs and colonies better know their place. They have been there not all that long ago and really don't want to ever go back there again.

I listened to his interview and he was very careful to calibrate his remarks. As a former Combatant Commander he was likely involved in wargames and planning for other Commands, but he has been out a long time. And as a Combat Commander he was free to respond to loaded questions with some left and right limits like he did here.
Russia won WWII because the West provided it food, clothing, most of its airpower, most of its fuel, all of its trucks, most of it locomotives, and lots of other stuff via Lend Lease. East minus West equals Zero. Russia also had all of its Republics back then and could draw upon them. None of this is true today.
Russia alone is responsible for its problems. Its a slowly failing petrostate ruled by and increasingly elderly KGB led oligarchy. Putin could have pulled a Pinochet and liberalized his nation, but he chose a different route. Had he focused on free trade and building a Slavic Free Trade zone, Russia would be at the center of a revitalized Eastern Europe. Oh well.
