Consolidated List of Custom "Tactical" Actions & Features

No. It comes with a "snazzy hard case". In red... for when you want to walk around with a mini-briefcase containing your rifle action sans barrel.
If it can pull double duty to haul my lunchables it's a huge added value.

When AI has a specific page for you to order their action, I'll add it. I can't find that page. And honestly... why buy just the AI action? To me that's kind of one of those... you buy the entire rifle ones. Does anyone actually want to buy JUST an AI action? They aren't that great... not the ones I've operated.
Hell ya Id buy one, I think many others would as well. One of the finest receivers ever developed. Its no surprise how popular the rifles are. Neither here nor there though, as AI wont be selling them individually.

Added Razor. Sticking to tactical-intent actions. The Definance Anti is more tuned to a hunting rifle (weight reduction). I suppose you could go with the Anti for an NRL hunter competition rifle, though. But... I'm just cutting this off at actions that are specifically designed to reduce weight.
What if you’re building a lightweight tactical rifle?

Then buy the lightweight version of the listed tactical action. Only difference tends to be how much metal is on the receiver.

Anyone know for sure if the Ultimatum is prefit-capable? Because that action is compelling as hell to me.

I didn't even know they had defacto barreled actions in stock... that seems like a sweet deal but their website seems kinda dumbed down.

I wonder if action Mfgs will jump on the NFT train. I'm not completely on board but I see it's value. Would definitely help the resale.

Now that would be cool. Show up at the stage, open your James Bond style small case, put your rifle together, hit all the targets, take your rifle apart, put it all back in the case and move on :D

Welp… considering I can’t afford to win a match I might as well show up in a suit, a rented Aston, and do exactly this.

Probably will bring a boom box to play one of the Bond songs. Probably the one from Goldeneye.

Goooooldeenneeyyyyeee… dum dum de doooo dooo!

An NFT can be used to authenticate an item without the need of a 3rd party, track its history and prove ownership. Probably more... they are starting to use them for cars and they can track maintenance, owners and all sorts of stuff. Some people think it'll do away with the knock off market of things like Rolex etc.

I think it's has potential in the firearms and optics world.

Still don't get it. Why do I need an NFT of my Impact 737R? What does it get me? What does it get anyone else?

People are getting leery in the PX. It would offer a lot to buyers and sellers. Tell you how many people really owned a scope before you or if the seller actually has it in hand.

Not going to say how the scope was treated and if it still works perfectly or not. Not going to say if my action has 10,000 rounds or 10.

Rather have escrow.

The good news is I don't have to sell you on the idea, I'm not even completely sold on it. But it does seems like something that's gaining steam.

I want something that lowers asking prices. I see guys list beat the fuck up scopes for $300 less than new. Common.

Things sell on a fair market. Don't like the product then don't buy it. You won't set a price on what someone else will sell something for or what someone else will buy it for.

Any way to link a PDF shot or something so we can see the whole thing? Tough to scroll right and keep place, at least as an old bastard.

Here is a link to view at Google.
If I may suggest: transpose the columns, it would make it easier to compare one action to another. Sortable headers for the columns would be great, just move your description at the top to an info sheet and the action data to a second sheet. Alternatively you could freeze the first column as well, there are multiple ways to attack this.

Sorting is added (when you go to the link, not the embedded doo dad in this thread).

is there anyway to freeze the panes after the model so that when you go over to right on the spreadsheet, it still shows what model you reading comments on? Thanks
Done. But you have to go to the actual spreadsheet, not the embedded one in this forum.

You have an iPhone?

I just want to point out that they can be turned landscape, like a TV, and they still work...😉 😂🤣😂🤣😂

I'll add an action.
Went to the PRE in October and got to handle the Kauger Arms PRS action.

Extremely well built, smooth and pre-fit capable.

They have a few different actions, but primarily they are the same 700 footprint.

Tenon is Rem 700, with a slightly coned bolt head.

Sliding extractor.
Single and dual ejectors.
Quick change bolt heads.
Hooded recoil lug.
Choice of bolt knob.
Choice of bolt fluting style.
20 MOA rail included.
30 MOA available.
Trigger hangar included on the PRS-2.

Prefit barrell installed and the markings actually line up.

I opted for the chain link fluting and what @Schütze likes to call, the jam nut bolt knob.

Dual ejector on magnum bolt head.

Note the small cone on the bolt nose.

I scribbled on it to note the differences in the Rem nose vs the Kauger.

Note to potential buyers:
I purchased an MDT BR magazine for this rifle.
Out of curiosity, I tried the 5 round plastic Magpul and it feeds without a hiccup.
Ejection is right at 1' away from the port.

Totally pleased with it.

Added the PRS and PRS2 from Kauger to the list. Great pricing for the feature set (relatively). PRS2 has a hanger, that's the difference.

First off, holy cow that's a lot of work! Bravo, way to go, saving me tons of time. What a service to the site!

Why isn't this a sticky???

What do you think of adding three columns:
  1. Cock on? (you could say close/open 50/50 or whatever, I dunno, just to give readers a feel for how the action cycles)
  2. Single feed? (y/n; I know many CRF actions have trouble with this, but some do not–I think)
  3. PPC bolt faces avail? (thinking of 6 arc, shoot me)

I'll think about adding that but honestly the only one on that list I could ascertain from website descriptions is #3 and since so few actually say whether they do or not, I figure you can figure that out on your own (in a few cases you have to ask action manufacturers to make you a 223 or other bolt face and wait for the custom job to be done). But good suggestions.

I’ve heard if you call Defiance they’ll make you a PPC bolt face…

I think all the current Kelbly actions are using Sako extractors. However, this was a change made just a couple years ago. Prior to that I believe they all had the sliding plate style.

Customer service is non-existent, isn't a true drop in R700 footprint, and I think it's only barrel nut prefit capable. You'd be better off with a Tikka T3
Ultimatum Precision was taken over by International Barrels Inc. (IBI) in April of 2022.
They have turned the company around and give excellent customer service.

As for the ultimatum action it will drop in to an R700 inletted action with a couple of small caveats.
A shorter rear action screw is required or a small washer is needed for the screw not to go as deep.
Secondly slight trimming of the mag latch height is required due to the 3rd lug at 6:00.
If using an MDT chassis you can purchase an Ultimatum Deadline compatibility kit which includes the washer and a shorter mag latch.

I have 626 rouds through my Gen 2 Deadine in an MDT ACC chassis without a single failure.
